Saskatchewan Pulse Crop Producers Hopeful Trade Dispute With India Can Be Resolved

Saskatchewan pulse crop producers remain hopeful a trade dispute with India can be resolved before the end of March.

India is requiring Canadian pulse crops to be fumigated before export after April 1st.

Pulse Canada CEO Gordon Bacon says the Canadian government has submitted a proposal that fumigation is unnecessary.

He adds the type of fumigation required by India doesn’t work in the Canadian cold weather.
