South Korea Imposes Suspension of Canada's International Clearance

The CCA is optimistic South Korea's suspension of Canada’s International Clearance will be short lived.
 
South Korea imposed the suspension after learning about our latest case of BSE
 
John Masswohl the CCA's Director of International Relations says the area is an important export market for us.
 
"We were doing $7 million or $10 million a year in 2012, 2013, but in 2014 we topped over $25 million. The value per kilo is about more than $8 a kilo, so it's a high end market, excellent value, so certainly that's something we want to have back."
 
The CFIA's investigation has found the animal's birth farm, which was also in Alberta.
