Soybean Production Workshops Scheduled For December

The Penn State Extension Crop Management Team has scheduled four Soybean Production Workshops the week of December 7, 2015. These day-long workshops teach soybean producers new integrated pest and cultural management practices covering the entire growing season, from planting to harvest.  Support for the workshops is provided in part by the Pennsylvania Soybean Board through the soybean checkoff
 
Each workshop will feature Penn State researchers, experienced soybean growers, and county Extension personnel presenting information covering all aspects of soybean production from planting to harvest. Topics include information on optimizing variety selection and planting rates, fertility management, weed, insect and disease scouting and harvest management. CCA and pesticide credits are available at each location.
 
The workshops will be held on Monday, December 7 at Penn State Extension, Columbia Co., 702 Sawmill Road, Suite 102, Bloomsburg, Pa.; Tuesday, December 8 at Hoss’s Steak & Seahouse, 675 Liberty Blvd,,
 
DuBois, Pa.; Wednesday, December 9 at Farm Credit AgChoice, 1243 Curryville Road, Martinsburg, Pa;
 
Thursday, December 10 at Ag Heritage Building – Rooms 7 & 8, 185 Franklin Farm Lane, Chambersburg, Pa;  and Friday, December 11 at the Milford Township Building, 2100 Krammes Road, Quakertown, Pa.
 
The Soybean Production Workshops run from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at each location. There is a $10 fee to attend, which includes lunch and materials.
