The nominees have been announced for this year's Manitoba Outstanding Young Farmers award.
Included are Clint and Shannon Desjardins, who operate Cattle Drive Ranch Inc. near the community of Laurier, MB. The Ranch consists of 800 mother cows and 40 bulls. They grow 400 acres of corn, 400 acres of barley for silage and 160 acres of hay.
They'll be up against Brent and Kirsty Oswald, who operate Cottonwood Holsteins, a mixed dairy and grain farm near Steinbach. They are milking 135 cows in three Delaval robots, with a grain farm just shy of 2500 acres.
The winner will be announced during a ceremony held March 3rd - 5th at the Elkhorn Resort in Onanole.
