MILTON, ON. — The Summer Fair and Farm Expo (the former All Colours Show) is one of the key highlights for providing an educational and entertainment vocation for those interested in aspects of the food and farm sector in the Halton area and throughout the province and is taking place at Country Heritage Park from July 15 to 17th.
More than a name change, this year's weekend-long event brings together a wide array of tractors and collectors but is offering family fun for all. There have been a number of new features added that will draw families from throughout the province: the Friday night heavy horse pulls; the lawn tractor pulls and pedal pulls for children on Saturday; the tractor and truck pulls on Saturday night; a midway and carnival; a fully enclosed swap and parts meet (for all ages); a Classic Car Cruiser Afternoon along with the mid-afternoon glory ride with this year's featured Odds and Sods - and therefore, open to each and everyone with a tractor and antique car; and evening entertainment with Johnny Cash impersonator Desi. All are new features to a traditionalist show and will add to the vendors that are going to be discussing farming in other countries, given the demographics from the Greater Toronto Area. This is an educational link that is important with kids since the other new feature will be an Agriculture and Food Awareness.
What gets most folks attention is the Saturday evening 4th annual wrestle-mania of Tractor and Truck Super Pull with its ground-shaking, reverberating off the scarpment walls, this is a thrill- a-minute and is not to be missed by families who like their action right here, right now.
For those seeking quieter moments of interlude, many of the buildings dotting Country Heritage Park will be open to the public so that they can catch a small glimpse into life before digital devices- and power, except for horse power.
