  2. Two modes of action deliver both preventative and curative activity and built-in disease resistance management

Syngenta Canada Inc. is pleased to announce the launch of Exempla™, a new fungicide designed to help canola growers in Western Canada manage Sclerotinia stem rot – one of the most destructive diseases affecting this crop.

Exempla is a liquid, pre-mix formulation that delivers both preventative and curative activity via two modes of action – Difenoconazole (Group 3) and Azoxystrobin (Group 11) – and is also part of an effective resistance management strategy.

“Exempla fungicide provides effective Sclerotinia control that is convenient and practical,” explains Eric Phillips, Product Lead, Fungicides and Insecticides, with Syngenta Canada. “Exempla has a single application rate, is easy to mix and treats 80 acres with one case, making it a user-friendly choice for growers requiring a Sclerotinia fungicide.”

Growers can also take advantage of the fungicide’s flexible application timing, which supports spraying by ground or air between 20 percent and 50 percent flowering.

Phillips notes that large-scale field trials conducted by Syngenta show Exempla to have very good activity on Sclerotinia under a variety of conditions and disease severities.

In addition to Sclerotinia control, Exempla is also registered for control of blackleg and Alternaria black spot – both of which are important canola diseases that can affect seed quality and cause significant yield losses.
