Team Canada Promotes Wheat In Middle East

Members from Team Canada are unpacking their bags after another successful new crop mission overseas.

The most recent tour took the 9-member team to North Africa and the Middle East with the goal of promoting Canadian Durum.

Alberta farmer Greg Porozni, who made the trip overseas, says they had the entire value chain at the table.

"I think it's really good because we have everybody from a producer; throughout the value chain and then with Cigi with market development and promotions, and of course the Grain Commission with the grading specifications," he said. "It's basically we have the entire wheat crop covered from start to finish."

The most recent trip was the last of four tours, with the other missions covering Asia, South America, and Europe.

In total Team Canada visited 20 countries over the four missions.
