UF/IFAS Beef & Forage Field Day October 3

Beef cattle producers find themselves challenged by rising input costs. Given the magnitude of increased expenses, producers are intently focused on the bottom line while seeking both economic and production efficiencies.

In response, the University of Florida North Florida Research and Education Center (NFREC) is hosting their 2014 Beef/Forage Day on October 3, 2014 at the NFREC Beef Unit located north of Marianna, one mile west of Greenwood, FL on highway 162. Registration starts at 8:30am (CST) followed by the program at 9:00 am (CST). The Beef/Forage Day will conclude at 2:30 pm.

This field day will inform producers about the latest developments in perennial and annual grass options for grazing livestock, fertilization options for Bahiagrass, combining hay quality with feed supplements, scouting and controlling pests in pastures, economics for cow/calf producers, a hay and haylage economics demonstration, and selecting bulls for the cowherd. The presenters are the leading experts from the Southeast associated with the topics presented.
