USDA Crop Progress Report: 45% of U.S. Corn Planted.

The U.S.D.A. released the weekly crop progress report.

Report Highlights.

U.S. corn planting continues to move along at a fast pace, but some areas were slowed down by last week’s rain.

As of Sunday, 45% of the crop is planted, compared to the five year average of 30%, with 13% of the crop emerged. Missouri is in the lead at 89%, followed by North Carolina at 84%.

8% of soybeans are planted, a little bit slower than last year, but ahead of the normal pace of 6%.

61% of the winter wheat crop is in good to excellent condition, up 2% on the week, and 42% of the crop has headed.

54% of spring wheat is planted, compared to 39% typically this time of year, and 22% has emerged.

58% of U.S. pastures and rangelands are in good to excellent shape.
