USDA Export Sales Report

Wheat:  Net sales of 226,670 metric tons for delivery in marketing year 2015/2016 were up noticeably from the previous week, but down 38 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for the Philippines (66,500 MT), Mexico (42,900 MT), Israel (29,100 MT), Guatemala (26,400 MT, including 25,500 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 900 MT), and Algeria (19,700 MT, including 21,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 1,300 MT).  Reductions were reported for Italy (3,500 MT) and the Leeward Windward Islands (300 MT).  Net sales of 10,000 MT for 2016/2017 were reported for South Korea.  Exports of 239,300 MT were up 35 percent from the previous week, but down12 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Nigeria (56,400 MT), Mexico (50,800 MT), Guatemala (35,400 MT), Jamaica (21,300 MT), and Algeria (19,700 MT).

Exports for Own Account:   The current exports for own account outstanding balance is 66,700 MT, all Italy.

Corn:  Net sales of 618,600 MT for 2015/2016 were up 11 percent from the previous week and 17 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for unknown destinations (246,500 MT), Mexico (101,600 MT), Japan (77,400 MT, including 23,700 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 35,000 MT), Colombia (45,400 MT), and Peru (26,600 MT).  Net sales of 22,000 MT for 2016/2017 were reported for El Salvador (12,000 MT) and Nicaragua (10,000 MT).  Exports of 270,900 MT were down 45 percent from the previous week and 44 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (153,100 MT), Japan (72,800 MT), El Salvador (17,000 MT), Taiwan (11,900 MT), Guatemala (7,300 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2015/2016, outstanding optional origin sales total 395,000 MT, all unknown destinations. 

Barley:  There were no sales reported during the week.  Exports of 300 MT were reported to South Korea.

Sorghum: Net sales of 107,000 MT were down 30 percent from the previous week, but up 46 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (94,900 MT, including 54,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 11,400 MT), unknown destinations (6,500 MT), Japan (4,600 MT), and Mexico (1,000 MT).  Exports of 167,800 MT were down 26 percent from the previous week and from prior 4-week average.  The destinations were China (165,300 MT) and Mexico (2,400 MT).

Rice:  Net sales of 35,700 MT for 2015/2016 were down 56 percent from the previous week and 55 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Japan (15,700 MT), Taiwan (11,000 MT), New Guinea (3,000 MT), El Salvador (2,100 MT), and Canada (2,100 MT).  Reductions were reported for Yemen (500 MT).  Exports of 34,200 MT, down 25 percent from the previous week and 47 percent from the prior 4-week average, were reported to Japan (16,100 MT), El Salvador (4,200 MT), Mexico (4,000 MT), Canada (3,500 MT), and New Guinea (3,000 MT). 

Exports for Own Account:  New exports for own account totaling 200 MT were reported to Canada.  Exports for own account totaling 100 MT to Canada were applied to new or outstanding sales.  The current outstanding balance is 700 MT, all Canada.

Soybeans:  Net sales of 1,297,000 MT for 2015/2016 were up 98 percent from the previous week, but down 14 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (1,166,200 MT, including 726,500 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 186,800 MT), Indonesia (110,200 MT, including 96,700 MT switched from unknown destinations), Germany (88,600 MT, previously reported as the Netherlands), the United Kingdom (67,400 MT, including 66,000 MT switched from China), Russia (63,800 MT, including 30,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), and Mexico (55,200 MT).  Reductions were reported for unknown destinations (392,500 MT).  Net sales of 22,800 MT for 2016/2017 were reported for Japan.  Exports of 2,485,700 MT were up 14 percent from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (1,935,300 MT), Mexico (120,800 MT), Indonesia (117,000 MT), Germany (88,600 MT, previously reported as the Netherlands), and the United Kingdom (67,400 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2015/2016, new optional origin sales totaling 60,000 MT were reported for unknown destinations.  Outstanding optional origin sales total 355,000 MT and are for China (175,000 MT), Pakistan (60,000 MT), and unknown destinations (120,000 MT).

Exports for Own Account:  New exports for own account totaling 26,400 MT were reported to Canada.  The current outstanding balance is 98,500 MT, all Canada.

Export Adjustments:  Accumulated exports to the Netherlands were adjusted down 88,599 MT for week ending October 22nd. 

Soybean Cake and Meal:  Net sales of 208,200 MT for 2015/2016 were down 15 percent from the previous week.  Increases were reported for Mexico (68,200 MT), Egypt (27,500 MT), unknown destinations (24,800 MT), the United Kingdom (15,000 MT), Taiwan (12,000 MT), and the Philippines (9,300 MT).  Reductions were reported for Panama (400 MT), Trinidad (300 MT), and Jamaica (100 MT).  Net sales of 6,900 MT for 2016/2017 were for Nicaragua (5,000 MT) and Canada (1,900 MT).  Exports of 216,900 MT were primarily to Mexico (72,100 MT), the Philippines (48,400 MT), Ecuador (31,200 MT), the Dominican Republic (22,100 MT), and Canada (16,400 MT). 

Optional Origin Sales:  Outstanding optional origin sales total 99,000 MT, all unknown destinations.

Soybean Oil:  Net sales of 28,900 MT for 2015/2016 were down 20 percent from the previous week.  Increases were reported for unknown destinations (19,000 MT), Colombia (9,000 MT), South Korea (1,000 MT, switched from unknown destinations), and Mexico (100 MT).  Reductions were reported for Morocco (300 MT) and Canada (100 MT).  Exports of 28,700 MT were primarily to Morocco (17,700 MT), Guatemala (7,000 MT), Mexico (2,700 MT), and South Korea (1,000 MT).

Cotton:   Net upland sales totaling 127,900 RB for 2015/2016 were down 13 percent from the previous week, but up 32 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Vietnam (35,300 RB, including 1,700 RB switched from South Korea and 1,000 RB switched from Japan), Turkey (31,100 RB), China (11,200 RB), Indonesia (9,200 RB), and Taiwan (8,400 RB).  Reductions were reported for South Korea (1,600 RB) and Japan (500 RB).  Net sales of 1,100 RB for 2016/2017 were reported for Peru (600 RB) and Japan (500 RB).  Exports of 71,100 RB were down 57 percent from the previous week and 21 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (17,100 RB), Turkey (12,900 RB), Vietnam (9,900 RB), Indonesia (5,200 RB), and South Korea (5,000 RB).  Net sales of Pima totaling 7,900 RB for 2015/2016 were down 43 percent from the previous week, but up 16 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (1,800 RB), India (1,400 RB), Peru (1,300 RB), Pakistan (1,000 RB), and Germany (1,000 RB).  Exports of 4,900 RB were up 99 percent from the previous week, but down 7 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (1,800 RB), Egypt (900 RB), India (800 RB), and Peru (600 RB). 

Exports for Own Account:  New exports for own account totaling 200 RB were reported to Vietnam.  Exports for own account totaling 6,000 RB to Vietnam were applied to new or outstanding sales.  The current outstanding balance is 45,900 RB, all China.

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 371,800 pieces for 2015, all whole cattle hides, were down 39 percent from the previous week and 19 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were China (259,500 pieces), South Korea (69,600 pieces), Taiwan (20,900 pieces), Mexico (16,700 pieces), and Thailand (5,900 pieces).  Reductions were for Italy (500 pieces), Japan (300 pieces), and Tunisia (100 pieces).  Exports of 406,800 pieces were down 4 percent from the previous week, but up 1 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide exports of 404,000 pieces were primarily to China (262,000 pieces), South Korea (71,600 pieces), Mexico (25,600 pieces), Taiwan (20,800 pieces), and Thailand (6,800 pieces). 

Net sales of 78,800 wet blues for 2015 were down 72 percent from the previous week and 53 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (21,300 grain splits and 6,000 unsplit), China (15,300 grain splits and 2,000 unsplit), Italy (10,300 grain splits and 200 unsplit), Japan (7,600 grain splits), and the Dominican Republic (6,800 unsplit).  For 2016, net sales reductions of 7,100 wet blues resulted as increases for Mexico (3,800 grain splits) and Japan (3,800 grain splits), were more than offset by reductions for Thailand (5,000 unsplit), China (3,000 grain splits), India  (2,100 unsplit), and Hong Kong (1,300 grain splits).  Exports of 133,600 wet blues were up 3 percent from the previous week, but down 4 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (36,200 unsplit and 20,600 grain splits), Italy (22,200 unsplit and 3,600 grain splits), Vietnam (17,700 unsplit), and Mexcico (12,400 grain splits and 1,000 unsplit).  Net sales of splits totaling 144,300 pounds for 2015 were for China (259,300 pounds) and Taiwan (50,000 pounds).  Reductions were reported for Vietnam (165,000 pounds).  Exports of 1,405,800 pounds were up 38 percent from the previous week and 12 percent and from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were Vietnam (1,219,400 pounds), China (127,300 pounds), Taiwan  (50,000 pounds), and South Korea (9,000 pounds).

Beef:  Net sales of 8,100 MT for 2015 were up noticeably from the previous week and up 19 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (2,100 MT), South Korea (1,600 MT), Japan (1,600 MT), Hong Kong (1,100 MT), and Canada (1,000 MT), were partially offset by reductions for Egypt (800 MT).  Net sales of 2,900 MT for 2016 were reported for Japan (3,300 MT).  Reductions were reported for Hong Kong (400 MT).  Exports of 13,300 MT were up 10 percent from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (3,200 MT), Hong Kong (3,000 MT), South Korea (2,700 MT), Mexico (1,400 MT), and Canada (1,300 MT).

Pork:  Net sales of 15,300 MT for 2015 were up 43 percent from the previous week, but unchanged from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Japan (4,800 MT), South Korea (2,100 MT), Canada (1,500 MT), Mexico (1,200 MT), and Australia (1,200 MT).  Net sales of 1,300 MT for 2016 were reported for Australia (400 MT), South Korea (300 MT), Chile (300 MT), Colombia (100 MT), and Canada (100 MT).  Exports of 16,600 MT were down 16 percent from the previous week and 12 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (5,800 MT), Japan (3,500 MT), South Korea (2,400 MT), Canada (1,400 MT), and China (1,200 MT).
