USDA Export Sales Report

Wheat:   Net sales of 372,400 metric tons for delivery in the 2014/2015 marketing year were down 50 percent from the previous week and 30 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for the Philippines (101,000 MT, including 32,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 18,000 MT), Taiwan (66,300 MT), Egypt (55,000 MT, switched from Nigeria), Chile (49,300 MT), Indonesia (48,000 MT, including 45,000 MT switched from unknown destinations       and decreases of 1,500 MT), Brazil (38,800 MT, including 30,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 2,100 MT), and Vietnam (29,700 MT, including 27,000 MT switched from unknown destinations).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (111,700 MT), Panama (14,600 MT), and Mexico (9,700 MT).  Exports of 668,500 MT were up 21 percent from the previous week and 14 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (120,000 MT), Brazil (106,300 MT), Mexico (74,100 MT), the Philippines (54,000 MT), Indonesia (49,500 MT), Chile (49,300 MT), and Colombia (34,600 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2014/2015, outstanding optional origin sales total 40,000 MT, all Algeria.

Exports for Own Account:  Exports for own account to Italy (5,700 MT) were applied to new or outstanding sales.  The current exports for own account balance is 29,500 MT, all Italy.

Corn:  Net sales of 784,800 MT for 2014/2015 were reported primarily for unknown destinations (230,400 MT), Japan (168,900 MT, including 128,100 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 10,600 MT), Peru (157,300 MT), Colombia (62,100 MT, including 40,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), and South Korea (61,900 MT, including 65,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 3,100 MT).  Decreases were reported for Israel (20,400 MT), Costa Rica (16,900 MT), and Canada (3,500 MT).  Net sales reductions of 800 MT for 2015/2016 were reported for Mexico.  Exports of 978,100 MT were primarily Mexico (253,200 MT), Japan (243,400 MT), Colombia (100,300 MT), Peru (96,500 MT), and South Korea (63,400 MT).

Barley:  Net sales of 32,500 MT were reported for China (30,000 MT) and Morocco (2,500 MT).  Exports of 28,000 MT--a marketing-year high--were up noticeably from the previous week and the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Morocco (27,500 MT) and Taiwan (500 MT).

Sorghum: Net sales of 65,800 MT for 2014/2015--a marketing-year low--were reported for China.  Exports of 160,900 MT were reported to China. 

Rice:  Net sales of 120,600 MT for 2014/2015 were up 80 percent from the previous week and up noticeably from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for unknown destinations (40,900 MT), Venezuela (30,000 MT), Mexico (19,800 MT), Haiti (11,000 MT), and South Korea (10,000 MT).  Exports of 43,500 MT were up 48 percent from the previous week and 32 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (34,000 MT), South Korea (3,000 MT), Canada (2,100 MT), Colombia (1,100 MT), and Jordan (1,100 MT).

Soybeans:  Net sales of 923,400 MT for 2014/2015 were reported primarily for China (195,400 MT), Thailand (98,500 MT), Indonesia (97,700 MT), Turkey (78,000 MT), and Germany (75,900 MT).  Decreases were reported for Costa Rica (2,400 MT) and Singapore (100 MT).  Net sales reductions of 21,500 MT for 2015/2016 were reported for Thailand.  Exports of 972,500 MT were primarily to China (530,900 MT), Mexico (76,900 MT), Germany (75,900 MT), Portugal (71,500 MT), and Saudi Arabia (68,200 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2014/2015, new optional origin sales totaling 63,000 MT were reported for China.  Outstanding optional origin sales total 1,624,500 MT, and are for China (1,398,500 MT), Egypt (181,000 MT), and Mexico (45,000 MT).

Export Adjustments:  Accumulated exports to the Netherlands were adjusted down 75,908 MT for week ending September 18th.   The correct destination for these shipments is Germany and is included in this week’s report.

Soybean Cake and Meal:  Net sales of 343,200 MT for the 2014/2015 marketing year (which began Oct. 1) were primarily for unknown destinations (80,200 MT), Thailand (60,000 MT), Canada (51,500 MT), and the Philippines (42,700 MT).  Decreases were reported for Venezuela (7,300 MT, including 4,000 MT switched from unknown destinations) and the Leeward & Windward Islands (400 MT).  Net sales of 12,600 MT for 2015/2016 were reported for Mexico.  Exports for October 1-2 of 13,500 MT were primarily to Venezuela (6,000 MT), Canada (3,900 MT), and Mexico (2,100 MT).  Net sales of 5,400 MT for (Sept. 26-30) resulted as increases for Venezuela (11,300 MT), Canada (300 MT), and Trinidad (200 MT), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (4,000 MT), Panama (1,600 MT), and Sri Lanka (1,000 MT).  A total of 364,400 MT in sales were outstanding on September 30 (the end of the 2013/2014 marketing year) and carried over to the 2014/2015 marketing year.  Exports of 61,300 MT were reported for September 26-30.   The primary destinations were Venezuela (30,000 MT), Mexico (11,100 MT), Canada (9,900 MT), and Honduras (2,500 MT).  Accumulated exports for the 2013/2014 marketing year were 10,116,600 MT, up 4 percent from the 9,712,300 MT reported in 2012/2013.   

Soybean Oil:  Net sales of 5,100 MT for the 2014/2015 marketing year (which began Oct. 1) resulted as increases for Peru (8,000 MT), Guatemala (4,000 MT), the Dominican Republic (4,000 MT), and Mexico (3,100 MT), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (14,000 MT) and Nicaragua (3,000 MT).  Exports for October 1-2 of 600 MT were primarily to Mexico (200 MT), Belgium (200 MT), and Canada (100 MT).  Net sales of 4,400 MT for (Sept. 26-30) were reported for Canada (1,700 MT), Nicaragua (1,500 MT), and Mexico (1,200 MT).  A total of 64,700 MT in sales were outstanding on September 30 (the end of the 2013/2014 marketing year) and carried over to the 2014/2015 marketing year.  Accumulated exports for the 2013/2014 marketing year were 767,800 MT, down 18 percent from the 935,600 MT reported in 2012/2013.

Cotton:  Net Upland sales of 68,500 RB for 2014/2015 were down 70 percent from the previous week and 35 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (39,000 RB), South Korea (12,000 RB), Turkey (11,600 RB), Indonesia (9,300 RB), Thailand (6,600 RB), and Peru (5,000 RB).  Decreases were reported for Mexico (23,400 RB) and Colombia (4,300 RB).  Net sales of 44,500 RB for 2015/2016 were reported for Mexico (36,400 RB), Guatemala (7,000 RB), Turkey (900 RB), and Japan (200 RB).  Exports of 81,300 RB were up 5 percent from the previous week, but down 8 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (16,800 RB), China (13,200 RB), Turkey (10,600 RB), Vietnam (7,800 RB), and Taiwan (7,600 RB).  Net American Pima sales of 100 RB--a marketing-year low--for 2014/2015 were down 96 percent from the previous week and 97 percent from the prior 4-week average.   Increases were for Turkey.   Exports of 4,900 RB--a marketing-year high--were primarily to India (2,600 RB), China (1,600 RB), and Japan (400 RB).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2013/2014, outstanding optional origin sales total 16,200 RB, and are for Thailand (11,300 RB), South Korea (4,600 RB), and Vietnam (300 RB). 

Exports for Own Account:  The current exports for own account balance is 54,300 RB, all China.

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 323,500 pieces were down 20 percent from the previous week and 10 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide sales of 323,300 pieces were primarily for China (204,400 pieces), South Korea (77,100 pieces), Mexico (27,800 pieces), Thailand (4,500 pieces, including 1,100 pieces switched from South Korea and decreases of 300 pieces), and Japan (4,000 pieces).  Exports of 368,100 pieces were down 11 percent from the previous week and 6 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide exports of 362,400 pieces were primarily to China (261,300 pieces), South Korea (65,900 pieces), Thailand (10,100 pieces), Mexico (9,700 pieces), and Japan (5,800 pieces).

Net sales of 179,900 wet blues for 2014 were up 12 percent from the previous week, but down 10 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for Mexico (119,200 grain splits and 300 unsplit), China (19,400 unsplit), Italy (15,800 grain splits and 1,100 unsplit), South Korea (10,500 grain splits), and Taiwan (9,400 unsplit).  Decreases were reported for China (1,300 grain splits), India (700 unsplit and 200 grain splits), and South Korea (200 unsplit).  Net sales of 42,900 wet blues for 2015 were reported for Mexico (33,400 grain splits), China (5,900 grain splits), Taiwan (3,200 unsplit), and India (700 unsplit).  Decreases were reported for India (300 grain splits).  Exports of 145,700 wet blues were primarily to Italy (48,000 unsplit and 7,800 grain splits), China (27,300 unsplit and 7,100 grain splits), Mexico (13,400 grain splits and 6,400 unsplit), and Vietnam (9,900 unsplit).  Net sales of splits totaling 5,800 pounds for 2014 resulted as increases for Hong Kong (9,900 pounds) and Vietnam (600 pounds), were partially offset by decreases for South Korea (4,600 pounds).  Exports of 890,500 pounds were reported to South Korea.

Beef:  Net sales of 14,100 MT for 2014 were up 18 percent from the previous week and 5 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Canada (3,500 MT), South Korea (3,000 MT), Japan (2,500 MT), Hong Kong (2,000 MT), and Mexico (1,200 MT).  Net sales of 3,200 MT for 2015 were reported for Japan (2,900 MT) and Canada (300 MT).  Exports of 14,000 MT were up 2 percent from the previous week and 5 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (4,300 MT), Hong Kong (2,700 MT), South Korea (2,200 MT), Mexico (2,200 MT), and Canada (1,000 MT).

Pork:  Net sales of 22,500 MT for 2014 were down 1 percent from the previous week, but up 10 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (9,900 MT), South Korea (6,100 MT), Japan (2,100 MT), Hong Kong (1,800 MT), and Canada (1,000 MT).  Exports of 16,500 MT were primary to Mexico (4,900 MT), Japan (3,500 MT), South Korea (2,800 MT), Canada (1,500 MT), and Hong Kong (1,100 MT).
