USDA Export Sales Report

Wheat:   Net sales of 417,700 metric tons for delivery in the 2014/2015 marketing year were up 57 percent from the previous week and 14 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for South Korea (60,300 MT), the Dominican Republic (49,000 MT), unknown destinations (46,700 MT), Guatemala (43,800 MT, including 30,200 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 800 MT), and El Salvador (41,800 MT, including 17,300 MT switched from unknown destinations).  Decreases were reported for Jamaica (2,000 MT).  Exports of 316,500 MT were up noticeably from the previous week, but down 6 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Nigeria (68,000 MT), Egypt (57,800 MT), Mexico (41,300 MT), South Korea (34,200 MT), Guatemala (29,400 MT), Singapore (22,000 MT), and Jamaica (21,200 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2014/2015, options were exercised to export 11,300 MT to Algeria from the United States.  Decreases in optional origin sales totaling 8,700 MT were reported for Algeria.  Outstanding optional origin sales total 20,000 MT, all Algeria.

Exports for Own Account:  Exports for own account totaling 2,600 MT to Algeria were applied to new or outstanding sales.  The current exports for own account balance is 37,900 MT, all Italy.

Corn:  Net sales of 505,300 MT for 2014/2015 were up 6 percent from the previous week, but down 49 percent from the prior 4-week average.   Increases were reported for Japan (189,300 MT, including 66,700 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 19,600 MT), Mexico (88,300 MT), Saudi Arabia (71,500 MT, including 65,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Canada (62,000 MT), and Venezuela (40,000 MT).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (40,200 MT), Taiwan (15,400 MT), and China (3,000 MT).   Exports of 600,800 MT were primarily to Mexico (201,000 MT), Peru (72,100 MT), Saudi Arabia (71,500 MT), Colombia (67,200 MT), Japan (66,700 MT), and Venezuela (60,000 MT).

Barley:  Net sales of 500 MT for 2014/2015 were reported for Taiwan.  Exports of 400 MT were reported to South Korea (300 MT) and Taiwan (100 MT).

Sorghum: Net sales of 346,900 MT for 2014/2015--a marketing-year high--were reported for China (285,400 MT, including 55,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Japan (60,000 MT), and unknown destinations (1,500 MT).  Exports of 64,400 MT were reported to China.

Rice:  Net sales of 66,300 MT for 2014/2015 were up 5 percent from the previous week and 6 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Venezuela (33,000 MT, including 30,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Mexico (17,400 MT), Costa Rica (15,000 MT), Japan (12,500 MT), and Honduras (7,800 MT).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (30,000 MT) and Haiti (4,100 MT).  Exports of 105,000 MT--a marketing-year high--were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Venezuela (33,000 MT), Japan (24,000 MT), Mexico (17,700 MT), Haiti (9,400 MT), and Saudi Arabia (8,500 MT).

Soybeans:  Net sales of 1,074,300 MT for 2014/2015 were down 33 percent from the previous week and 28 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were primarily for China (733,000 MT, including 168,000 MT switched from unknown destinations, 55,000 MT switched from Spain, and decreases of 20,500 MT), Mexico (101,100 MT), Thailand (85,600 MT), Saudi Arabia (66,000 MT), and Indonesia (59,900 MT, including 68,200 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 14,400 MT).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (102,500 MT), Spain (55,000 MT), Vietnam (23,500 MT), and Taiwan (13,400 MT).  Exports of 2,268,800 MT were down 22 percent from the previous week, but up12 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (1,555,600 MT), Mexico (136,000 MT), Turkey (115,500 MT), the Netherlands (106,600 MT), Indonesia (94,000 MT), Thailand (79,400 MT), and Egypt (42,700 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2014/2015, options were exercised to export 45,000 MT to Mexico from the United States.  Outstanding optional origin sales total 1,010,000 MT, and are for China (829,000 MT), Egypt (121,000 MT), and unknown destinations (60,000 MT).

Exports for Own Account:  Exports for own account totaling 25,400 MT were reported to Canada.  Exports for own account totaling 42,700 MT to Canada were applied to new or outstanding sales.  The current exports for own account balance is 26,700 MT, all Canada.

Soybean Cake and Meal:  Net sales of 21,300 MT for 2014/2015 resulted as increases for Italy (45,000 MT, switched from unknown destinations), Denmark (42,000 MT, switched from unknown destinations), Saudi Arabia (42,000 MT), Spain (28,100 MT, including 25,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), and Mexico (22,100 MT), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (172,100 MT), Vietnam (16,900 MT), and Algeria (15,000 MT).   Net sales of 18,300 MT for 2015/2016 were reported for Mexico.  Exports of 153,300 MT were reported to Denmark (42,000 MT), Spain (28,100 MT), Israel (17,500 MT), Canada (15,200 MT), and Mexico (12,100 MT).

Soybean Oil:  Net sales of 15,600 MT for 2014/2015 reported for Mexico (11,900 MT), Peru (3,000 MT), the Dominican Republic (2,000 MT), Canada (500 MT), and Australia, (100 MT), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (2,000 MT).  Exports of 18,200 MT were reported to Guatemala (6,500 MT), Mexico (5,600 MT), the Dominican Republic (4,500 MT), Trinidad (600 MT), and Canada (500 MT).

Cotton:  Net Upland sales of 158,300 RB for 2014/2015 were up noticeably from the previous week and 88 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Indonesia (40,500 RB, including 8,800 RB switched from China and 400 RB switched from Japan), Egypt (39,600 RB), China (26,000 RB), Vietnam (10,700 RB, including 400 RB switched from South Korea), and Taiwan (9,100 RB).   Exports of 88,600 RB were up 36 percent from the previous week and 18 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (23,500 RB), Indonesia (14,200 RB), Mexico (13,200 RB), Turkey (12,100 RB), and Vietnam (6,700 RB).  Net American Pima sales of 13,000 RB for 2014/2015--a marketing year-high--were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.   Increases for China (12,800 RB), Japan (300 RB), Italy (200 RB), and India (100 RB), were partially offset by decreases for Egypt (400 RB).  Exports of 1,800 RB were primarily to China (1,200 RB), Japan (300 RB), and Mexico (200 RB).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2013/2014, outstanding optional origin sales total 16,200 RB, and are for Thailand (11,300 RB), South Korea (4,600 RB), and Vietnam (300 RB). 

Exports for Own Account:  The current exports for own account balance is 54,900 RB, all China.

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 501,800 pieces, all whole cattle hides, were up 55 percent from the previous week and 36 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (331,900 pieces), South Korea (101,400 pieces), Taiwan (22,500 pieces), and the Netherlands (20,400 pieces).  Decreases were reported for Japan (500 pieces).  Exports of 403,800 pieces were up 32 percent from the previous week and 21 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide exports of 399,700 pieces were primarily to China (252,600 pieces), South Korea (90,300 pieces), Mexico (15,500 pieces), Taiwan (14,100 pieces), and Italy (9,300 pieces).

Net sales of 13,100 wet blues for 2014 were up 83 percent from the previous week, but down 86 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for China (17,700 unsplit), Italy (9,000 unsplit), South Korea (7,100 grain splits), Thailand (5,700 unsplit), and Mexico (4,600 grain splits and 1,100 unsplit), were partially offset by decreases for South Korea (20,000 unsplit), Italy (11,400 grain splits), and Taiwan (4,600 unsplit).  Net sales reductions of 17,000 wet blues for 2015 resulted as increases for South Korea (23,400 unsplit), Italy (11,400 grain splits), China (10,100 unsplit), and Taiwan (4,600 unsplit), were more than offset by decreases for Hong Kong (37,000 grain splits) and South Korea (29,400 grain splits).  Exports of 94,800 wet blues were primarily to China (36,000 unsplit and 5,500 grain splits), Mexico (16,700 grain splits and 1,100 unsplit), Vietnam (12,300 unsplit), and South Korea (4,800 grain splits and 3,400 unsplit).  Net sales of splits totaling 520,900 pounds for 2014 were for South Korea (454,500 pounds) and China (123,800 pounds).  Decreases were reported for Hong Kong (57,400 pounds).  Net sales reductions of splits totaling 26,000 pounds for 2015 were for South Korea.  Exports of 782,100 pounds were reported to South Korea (407,000 pounds), Hong Kong (203,400 pounds), and China (171,800 pounds).

Beef:  Net sales of 8,000 MT for 2014 were up 16 percent from the previous week, but down 25 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for South Korea (2,800 MT), Japan (1,700 MT), Canada (1,100 MT), Taiwan (700 MT), and Hong Kong (700 MT).  Net sales of 200 MT for 2015 were reported for Japan (100 MT) and Mexico (100 MT).  Exports of 12,600 MT were down 9 percent from the previous week and 10 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (3,100 MT), South Korea (2,800 MT), Hong Kong (2,700 MT), Mexico (1,400 MT), and Canada (1,200 MT).

Pork:  Net sales of 14,500 MT for 2014 were down 49 percent from the previous week and 27 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Japan (5,400 MT), South Korea (2,600 MT), Mexico (2,500 MT), Canada (900 MT), and Colombia (800 MT).  Net sales of 200 MT for 2015 were reported for New Zealand (100 MT) and Colombia (100 MT).  Exports of 16,900 MT were primary to Mexico (5,300 MT), Japan (3,300 MT), South Korea (2,900 MT), Canada (1,600 MT), and Hong Kong (800 MT).
