USDA Export Sales Report

Wheat:   Net sales of 431,500 metric tons for delivery in the 2014/2015 marketing year were up 19 percent from the previous week and 16 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Japan (131,800 MT), Taiwan (84,300 MT), Mexico (50,200 MT), Indonesia (49,500 MT, including 45,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), and Thailand (46,800 MT).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (67,000 MT), Panama (20,900 MT), South Korea (7,000 MT), Ecuador (2,800 MT), and Venezuela (2,000 MT).  Net sales of 65,000 MT for 2015/2016 were reported for Nigeria (36,000 MT), Peru (16,000 MT), and Colombia (13,000 MT).  Exports of 517,300 MT were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (89,800 MT), the Philippines (82,800 MT), Yemen (55,000 MT), Indonesia (49,500 MT), Brazil (49,400 MT), Taiwan (47,300 MT), and Algeria (38,900 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2014/2015, outstanding optional origin sales total 20,000 MT, all Algeria.

Exports for Own Account:  Exports for own account totaling 5,600 MT to Italy were applied to new or outstanding sales.  Decreases in exports for own account totaling 100 MT were reported to Italy.  The current exports for own account balance is 31,900 MT, all Italy.

Corn:  Net sales of 944,900 MT for 2014/2015 were up 4 percent from the previous week and 59 percent from the prior 4-week average.   Increases were reported for unknown destinations (243,205 MT), Japan (152,600 MT, including 32,900 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 1,400 MT), Colombia (133,800 MT, including 30,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 2,300 MT), Egypt (131,100 MT), Taiwan (94,400 MT), and the Dominican Republic (36,000 MT).  Exports of 616,400 MT were primarily to Mexico (149,100 MT), Egypt (131,100 MT), Colombia (104,800 MT), Japan (88,400 MT), Venezuela (40,000 MT), and Panama (19,000 MT).

Barley:  Net sales of 14,000 MT for 2014/2015 were reported for Japan.  Exports of 200 MT were reported to South Korea.

Sorghum: Net sales of 461,700 MT for 2014/2015--a marketing-year high--were reported for China (177,500 MT), unknown destinations (174,000 MT), and Japan (110,200 MT).  Exports of 146,700 MT were reported to China.

Rice:  Net sales of 71,900 MT for 2014/2015 were up noticeably from the previous week and 16 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Turkey (20,000 MT), Haiti (14,400 MT), Japan (13,800 MT), El Salvador (7,600 MT, including 5,500 switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 1,600 MT), and Mexico (6,200 MT).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (2,000 MT).  Exports of 68,600 MT were down 2 percent from the previous week 3 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (25,200 MT), Costa Rica (17,500 MT), El Salvador (16,200 MT), Canada (3,500 MT), and Saudi Arabia (1,500 MT).

Soybeans:  Net sales of 1,485,400 MT for 2014/2015 were up noticeably from the previous week and 34 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were primarily for China (806,200 MT, including 225,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 161,100 MT), the Netherlands (147,200 MT, including 140,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), unknown destinations (112,000 MT), Russia (100,400 MT, including 40,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), the United Kingdom (63,100 MT, including 60,000 MT switched from China), and Egypt (44,700 MT).  Net sales of 2,000 MT for 2015/2016 were reported for Japan.  Exports of 2,781,100 MT were down 10 percent from the previous week, but up 11 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (2,122,600 MT), the Netherlands (147,200 MT), Turkey (80,400 MT), Mexico (78,500 MT), the United Kingdom (63,100 MT), Taiwan (49,200 MT), Japan (44,500 MT), and Canada (36,900 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2014/2015, options were exercised to export 60,000 MT to Egypt from the United States.  Outstanding optional origin sales total 950,000 MT, and are for China (829,000 MT), Egypt (61,000 MT), and unknown destinations (60,000 MT).

Exports for Own Account:  Exports for own account totaling 25,400 MT were reported to Canada.  Exports for own account totaling 14,700 MT to Canada were applied to new or outstanding sales.  The current exports for own account balance is 41,500 MT, all Canada.

Soybean Cake and Meal:  Net sales reductions of 22,300 MT for 2014/2015 resulted as increases for Ecuador (58,100 MT, including 55,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Thailand (50,400 MT, including 45,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Panama (34,000 MT, including 9,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 600 MT), Venezuela (24,500 MT, switched from unknown destinations), Cuba (22,500 MT), and Colombia (22,400 MT, including 5,000 MT switched from Panama), were more than offset by decreases for unknown destinations (185,800 MT), the Philippines (50,000 MT), Ireland (19,500 MT), Morocco (15,000 MT), and Indonesia (5,400 MT).  Net sales of 174,300 MT for 2015/2016 were reported for Thailand (174,000 MT) and Mexico (300 MT).  Exports of 417,300 MT were up 92 percent from the previous week and up noticeably from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Thailand (108,400 MT), Ecuador (58,100 MT), the Philippines (53,200 MT), Italy (49,500 MT), and Venezuela (39,500 MT).   

Soybean Oil:  Net sales of 35,600 MT for 2014/2015 were up 82 percent from the previous week and up noticeably from the prior 4-week average.   Increases were reported for the Dominican Republic (16,000 MT), Peru (10,000 MT), Guatemala (6,000 MT), and Mexico, (3,300 MT).  Exports of 5,300 MT were reported to Mexico (4,800 MT), Canada (200 MT), and Trinidad (100 MT).

Cotton:  Net Upland sales of 305,700 RB for 2014/2015--a marketing-year high--were reported for China (101,700 RB), Vietnam (51,500 RB, including 300 RB switched from China), Indonesia (49,600 RB, including 500 RB switched from Thailand), Thailand (29,300 RB, including 400 RB switched from Japan), and Taiwan (18,900 RB).  Decreases were reported for Mexico (1,400 MT).  Net sales of 10,400 RB for 2015/2016 were for Indonesia (6,600 RB), Morocco (2,200 RB), and Japan (1,600 RB).  Exports of 107,600 RB--a marketing-year high--were up 72 percent from the previous week and 50 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (40,500 RB), Mexico (14,600 RB), Turkey (13,500 RB), Vietnam (9,500 RB), and Thailand (5,900 RB).  Net American Pima sales of 4,800 RB for 2014/2015 were down 56 percent from the previous week and 46 percent from the prior 4-week average.   Increases reported for China (3,100 RB), Peru (900 RB), Turkey (300 RB), Japan (300 RB), and South Korea (200 RB).  Exports of 6,600 RB--a marketing-year high--were up 67 percent from the previous week and up noticeably from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (5,800 RB), Pakistan (400 RB), Japan (200 RB), and Honduras (100 RB).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2014/2015, outstanding optional origin sales total 16,200 RB, and are for Thailand (11,300 RB), South Korea (4,600 RB), and Vietnam (300 RB). 

Exports for Own Account:  Exports for own account to China (700 RB) were applied to new or outstanding sales.  The current exports for own account balance is 53,500 RB, all China.

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 315,000 pieces were down 3 percent from the previous week and 21 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide sales of 314,900 pieces were primarily for China (198,500 pieces), South Korea (51,300 pieces), Mexico (23,200 pieces), Taiwan (19,000 pieces), and Thailand (15,600 pieces).  Exports of 288,600 pieces were down 27 percent from the previous week and 22 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide exports of 284,500 pieces were to China (233,500 pieces), South Korea (36,800 pieces), Taiwan (6,900 pieces), Mexico (6,400 pieces), and Indonesia (900 pieces).

Net sales of 136,800 wet blues for 2014 were up noticeably from the previous week and 61 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for Italy (41,300 unsplit and 25,200 grain splits), China (44,800 unsplit), Vietnam (14,400 unsplit), and Mexico (9,300 grain splits), were partially offset by decreases for Taiwan (4,800 unsplit) and China (4,100 grain splits).  Net sales reductions of 115,400 wet blues for 2015 resulted as increases for Italy (8,500 unsplit), Taiwan (4,100 unsplit), and China (3,900 grain splits), were more than offset by decreases for China (131,900 unsplit).  Exports of 89,600 wet blues were primarily to China (22,900 unsplit and 5,700 grain splits), Italy (10,000 grain splits and 9,100 unsplit), Mexico (18,800 grain splits), and Vietnam (9,600 unsplit).  Net sales reductions of splits totaling 453,900 pounds--a marketing-year low--for 2014 resulted as increases for Hong Kong (10,400 pounds), were more than offset by decreases for South Korea (464,300 pounds).  Net sales of splits totaling 557,000 pounds for 2015 were for South Korea.  Exports of 571,000 pounds were reported to South Korea (521,000 pounds) and Hong Kong (50,000 pounds).

Beef:  Net sales of 11,300 MT for 2014 were down 16 percent from the previous week and 6 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Japan (4,300 MT), South Korea (2,300 MT), Hong Kong (1,700 MT), Mexico (1,400 MT), and Canada (800 MT).  Net sales of 800 MT for 2015 were reported for Canada (300 MT), Hong Kong (200 MT), Mexico (200 MT), and Japan (100 MT).  Exports of 12,300 MT were down 5 percent from the previous week and 6 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (3,500 MT), Hong Kong (2,600 MT), South Korea (2,200 MT), Mexico (1,700 MT), and Canada (1,000 MT).

Pork:  Net sales of 18,900 MT for 2014 were up 33 percent from the previous week and 8 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Japan (4,800 MT), China (3,600 MT), Mexico (3,400 MT), South Korea (2,800 MT), and Canada (1,100 MT).  Net sales of 4,000 MT for 2015 were reported for South Korea (2,600 MT), Japan (1,300 MT), and Taiwan (100 MT).  Exports of 19,400 MT were primary to Mexico (5,700 MT), Japan (3,300 MT), South Korea (2,800 MT), Canada (2,000 MT), and China (1,900 MT).
