USDA Export Sales Report

Wheat:   Net sales of 47,900 metric tons for delivery in 2014/2015--a marketing-year low--were down 85 percent from the previous week and 80 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Egypt (57,800 MT, including 60,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 2,200 MT), Ecuador (20,700 MT, including 20,300 MT switched from unknown destinations), Peru (11,200 MT), Nigeria (6,500 MT, including 6,200 MT switched from unknown destinations), and the Dominican Republic (5,000 MT).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (68,000 MT) and Jamaica (2,200 MT).  Net sales of 112,500 MT for 2015/2016 were for the Philippines (46,000 MT), Mexico (42,500 MT), unknown destinations (23,800 MT), and Hong Kong (300 MT).  Exports of 383,800 MT were up 2 percent from the previous week, but down 10 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Egypt (117,800 MT), the Dominican Republic (46,400 MT), Taiwan (43,000 MT), Peru (33,000 MT), Japan (25,300 MT), and South Korea (23,200 MT).

Exports for Own Account:  New exports for own account totaling 400 MT were reported to Italy.  Exports for own account to Italy totaling 500 MT were applied to new or outstanding sales.  The current exports for own account balance is 31,500 MT, all Italy.

Corn:  Net sales of 588,200 MT for delivery in 2014/2015 were down 8 percent from the previous week, but up 19 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Japan (194,300 MT, including 43,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 66,600 MT), South Korea (166,000 MT, including 88,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 2,300 MT), China (65,200 MT), Mexico (51,500 MT), and Guatemala (36,700 MT, including 42,900 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 5,000 MT).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (60,400 MT) and the Dominican Republic (3,300 MT).  Net sales of 28,500 MT for 2015/2016 were reported for unknown destinations (21,000 MT), Guatemala (4,600 MT), and El Salvador (3,000 MT).  Exports of 870,900 MT were down 26 percent from the previous week and 4 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (276,100 MT), South Korea (255,900 MT), Mexico (178,900 MT), Colombia (63,300 MT), Guatemala (46,800 MT), El Salvador (20,800 MT), and Morocco (17,500 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2014/2015, options were exercised to export 68,000 MT to South Korea from the United States.

Barley: There were no sales or exports reported during the week.

Sorghum: Net sales of 66,300 MT for 2014/2015 resulted as increases for China (124,800 MT, including 58,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 7,000 MT) and Japan (9,500 MT, including 10,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 500 MT), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (68,000 MT).  Net sales of 58,000 MT for 2015/2016 were reported for unknown destinations.  Exports of 350,800 MT--a marketing-year high--were up 92 percent from the previous week and 51 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were primarily for China (341,200 MT) and Japan (9,500 MT). 

Rice:  Net sales of 34,300 MT for 2014/2015 were down 44 percent from the previous week and 53 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Costa Rica (14,000 MT, including 7,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Mexico (6,700 MT), Guatemala (5,800 MT, switched from unknown destinations), Panama (5,100 MT), and Haiti (4,700 MT).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (12,200 MT) and Colombia (1,800 MT).  Exports of 82,600 MT were up 37 percent from the previous week and 35 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Colombia (32,200 MT), Costa Rica (12,100 MT), Haiti (11,800 MT), Guatemala (5,900 MT), and Panama (5,100 MT).

Exports for Own Account:  New exports for own account totaling 200 MT were reported to Canada.  The current exports for own account balance is 300 MT, all Canada.

Soybeans:  Net sales of 312,600 MT for 2014/2015 were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Germany (96,000 MT, previously reported for the Netherlands), the Netherlands (85,000 MT, including 80,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), unknown destinations (27,000 MT), South Korea (26,300 MT, including 25,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Japan (21,500 MT), and Morocco (16,300 MT, including 17,500 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 1,200 MT).  Net sales of 226,200 MT for 2015/2016 were for China (165,000 MT), unknown destinations (60,000 MT), and Japan (1,200 MT).  Exports of 563,100 MT were up 7 percent from the previous week, but down 13 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (196,400 MT), Germany (96,000 MT, previously report for the Netherlands) the Netherlands (85,000 MT), Mexico (41,100 MT), Japan (27,000 MT), South Korea (26,600 MT), and Egypt (22,400 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2014/2015, outstanding optional origin sales total 656,000 MT, all China.

Exports for Own Account:  The current exports for own account balance is 1,900 MT, all Canada.

Export Adjustments:  Accumulated exports to the Netherlands were adjusted down 96,001 MT for week ending April 2nd.   The correct destination is Germany and is included in this week’s report. 

Soybean Cake and Meal:  Net sales of 130,400 MT for 2014/2015 were up noticeably from the previous week, but down 24 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (60,000 MT), Colombia (39,100 MT, including 18,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 11,500 MT), Guatemala (17,800 MT, including 15,900 MT, switched from unknown destinations and 500 MT switched from Nicaragua), the Dominican Republic (10,100 MT), Jamaica (9,000 MT), and Canada (8,500 MT).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (40,000 MT), Vietnam (4,700 MT), and Morocco (900 MT).  Net sales of 13,100 MT for 2015/2016 were reported for Peru (7,600 MT), the Dominican Republic (4,000 MT), unknown destinations (1,100 MT), and Canada (400 MT).  Exports of 250,200 MT were down 15 percent from the previous week and 10 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were the Philippines (47,100 MT), Mexico (42,100 MT), Vietnam (40,800 MT), Egypt (25,300 MT), Morocco (23,100 MT), Colombia (22,900 MT), and Guatemala (18,700 MT). 

Soybean Oil:  Net sales of 4,500 MT for 2014/2015 were down 62 percent from the previous week and 71 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (3,400 MT), Canada (700 MT), and the Dominican Republic (300 MT).  Exports of 8,400 MT were down 75 percent from the previous week and 62 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (5,800 MT), El Salvador (1,200 MT), Costa Rica (1,000 MT), and Canada (300 MT).

Cotton:  Net Upland sales reductions of 21,800 RB for 2014/2015 resulted as increases for Vietnam (11,200 RB, including 10,800 RB switched from China, 1,500 RB switched from Italy, and decreases of 400 RB), Indonesia (4,300 RB, including 700 RB switched from Japan and decreases of 2,300 RB), Thailand (3,200 RB, including 700 RB switched from Japan and decreases of 700 RB), Peru (2,600 RB), and Taiwan (2,200 RB), were more than offset by decreases for China (45,200 RB), Japan (1,800 RB), Italy (1,500 RB), and Turkey (1,300 RB).  Net sales of 52,500 RB for 2015/2016 were reported for South Korea (36,600 RB), Vietnam (11,100 RB), Taiwan (2,600 RB), and Indonesia (2,200 RB).  Exports of 201,500 RB were down 54 percent from the previous week and 40 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (53,200 RB), Turkey (34,800 RB), Vietnam (33,800 RB), Indonesia (18,400 RB), and South Korea (18,300 RB).  Net American Pima sales of 11,600 RB for 2014/2015 were down 35 percent from the previous week, but up 28 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (6,700 RB, including 1,400 RB switched from Hong Kong), India (4,400 RB), Bangladesh (1,000 RB), and Pakistan (400 RB).  Decreases were reported for Hong Kong (1,400 RB).  Net sales of 300 RB for 2015/2016 were reported for Japan.  Exports of 15,400 RB were down 16 percent from the previous week, but up 16 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (9,300 RB), Thailand (1,600 RB), Peru (900 RB), and India (700 RB).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2014/2015, outstanding optional origin sales total 16,200 RB, and are for Thailand (11,300 RB), South Korea (4,600 RB), and Vietnam (300 RB). 

Exports for Own Account:  The current exports for own account balance is 45,100 RB, and is for China (41,600 RB) and Turkey (3,500 RB).

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 236,100 pieces for 2015, all whole cattle hides, were down 41 percent from the previous week and 37 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (100,500 pieces), South Korea (90,000 pieces), Taiwan (11,200 pieces), and Mexico (11,000 pieces).  Exports of 427,200 pieces were up 18 percent from the previous week and 2 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide exports of 406,600 pieces were primarily to China (295,300 pieces), South Korea (66,700 pieces), Taiwan (18,100 pieces), and Mexico (11,400 pieces).

Net sales of 209,000 wet blues for 2015 were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (66,300 unsplit and 3,900 grain splits), Vietnam (39,800 unsplit), Mexico (32,800 grain splits and 100 unsplit), and Taiwan (26,000 unsplit and 700 grain splits).  Decreases were reported for South Korea (200 grain splits and 100 unsplit) and Canada (100 unsplit).  Exports of 132,200 wet blues were primarily to China (33,800 unsplit and 7,700 grain splits), Italy (16,400 unsplit and 7,200 grain splits), Vietnam (18,100 unsplit), and Thailand (11,500 unsplit).   Net sales of splits totaling 563,200 pounds for 2015 were for South Korea (456,600 pounds), Hong Kong (100,000 pounds), and China (14,800 pounds).  Decreases were reported for Italy (6,800 pounds) and Taiwan (1,400 pounds).  Exports of 2,149,100 pounds--a marketing-year high--were reported to South Korea (2,145,900 pounds) and Taiwan (3,200 pounds).

Beef:  Net sales of 11,200 MT for 2015 were down 3 percent from the previous week, but up 8 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Japan (4,900 MT), South Korea (1,900 MT), Mexico (1,800 MT), Taiwan (800 MT), and Canada (800 MT).  Exports of 12,700 MT--a marketing-year high--were up 6 percent from the previous week and 5 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (4,500 MT), South Korea (3,000 MT), Hong Kong (1,900 MT), Mexico (1,400 MT), and Canada (900 MT).

Pork:  Net sales of 16,200 MT for 2015 were down 10 percent from the previous week and 26 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (6,000 MT), Canada (3,000 MT), Japan (2,600 MT), South Korea (1,200 MT), and the Philippines (1,000 MT).  Exports of 20,800 MT were up 9 percent from the previous week and 1 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (6,600 MT), South Korea (4,000 MT), Japan (3,200 MT), China (2,000 MT), and Canada (1,500 MT).
