USDA Export Sales Report

Wheat:  Net sales of 357,500 metric tons for delivery in marketing year 2015/2016 were down 22 percent from the previous week, but up 29 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for the Philippines (133,900 MT, including 53,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 1,300 MT), unknown destinations (44,800 MT), South Korea (39,000 MT), Mexico (30,800 MT), Japan (25,500 MT), and Chile (22,100 MT).  Reductions were reported for Barbados (9,900 MT).  Net sales of 1,700 MT for 2016/2017 resulted as increases for Costa Rica (5,200 MT), unknown destinations (1,600 MT), and Italy (100 MT), were partially offset by reductions for Barbados (5,200 MT).  Exports of 211,900 MT were down 43 percent from the previous week and 60 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were the Philippines (80,800 MT), Taiwan (56,800 MT), Nigeria (26,000 MT), and Japan (25,400 MT).

Exports for Own Account:  New exports for own account totaling 100 MT were reported to Italy.  Exports for own account to Italy totaling 3,700 MT were applied to new or outstanding sales.  The current outstanding balance is 48,600 MT, all Italy.

Corn:  Net sales of 248,000 MT for 2015/2016 were down 59 percent from the previous week and 57 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for Japan (103,500 MT, including 43,500 MT switched from unknown destinations), Colombia (73,400 MT, including 30,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 5,000 MT), Mexico (40,700 MT), Peru (28,000 MT), and Honduras (17,700 MT), were partially offset by reductions for unknown destinations (25,700 MT) and the French West Indies (6,500 MT).  Exports of 409,800 MT were down 33 percent from the previous week and 39 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (236,700 MT), Colombia (77,500 MT), Japan (43,500 MT), Peru (29,700 MT), Taiwan (8,100 MT), and Canada (7,000 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2015/2016, outstanding optional origin sales total 450,000 MT, all unknown destinations.

Barley:  There were no sales or exports reported during the week.

Sorghum: Net sales reductions of 9,800 MT for 2015/2016 resulted as increases for China (155,200 MT, including 166,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 14,700 MT) and Haiti (1,000 MT), were more than offset by reductions for unknown destinations (166,000 MT).  Exports of 259,700 MT were up 1 percent from the previous week, but down 2 percent from prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (256,400 MT) and Mexico (3,200 MT).

Rice:  Net sales of 66,900 MT for 2015/2016 were up 20 percent from the previous week and 29 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Japan (25,200 MT), Mexico (24,600 MT), unknown destinations (8,500 MT), the Dominican Republic (4,400 MT), and Canada (2,000 MT).  Exports of 60,700 MT, down 16 percent from the previous week and 18 percent from the prior 4-week average, were reported to Japan (24,000 MT), Mexico (23,600 MT), South Korea (6,700 MT), Canada (3,000 MT), and Jordan (1,000 MT). 

Exports for Own Account:  New exports for own account totaling 100 MT were reported to Canada.  The current outstanding balance is 400 MT, all Canada.

Soybeans:  Net sales of 2,030,800 MT for 2015/2016 were up 43 percent from the previous week and 26 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (2,214,000 MT, including 943,100 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 238,100 MT), Mexico (177,600 MT), the Netherlands (92,900 MT, including 91,500 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 600 MT), Spain (72,800 MT, including 66,400 MT switched from unknown destinations), and Saudi Arabia (66,000 MT).  Reductions were reported for unknown destinations (612,000 MT) and Japan (122,600 MT).  Net sales of 1,600 MT for 2016/2017 were reported for Japan.  Exports of 2,330,400 MT--a marketing-year high--were up 49 percent from the previous week and up noticeably from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (1,848,900 MT), Mexico (200,500 MT), the Netherlands (92,900 MT), Spain (72,800 MT), and Tunisia (33,000 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2015/2016, outstanding optional origin sales total 175,000 MT, all China.

Exports for Own Account:  New exports for own account totaling 30,800 MT were reported to Canada.  The current outstanding balance is 32,700 MT, all Canada.

Export Adjustments:  Accumulated exports to China were adjusted down 60,500 MT for week ending October 8th. 

Soybean Cake and Meal:  Net sales of 264,400 MT for 2015/2016 were up 17 percent from the previous week.  Increases were reported for Mexico (101,400 MT), unknown destinations (34,900 MT), Saudi Arabia (25,000 MT), Libya (23,500 MT), Canada (18,800 MT), and Nicaragua (16,000 MT).  Reductions were reported for Venezuela (7,300 MT) and the French West Indies (3,800 MT).  Net sales of 4,700 MT for 2016/2017 reported for Mexico (4,800 MT), were partially offset by reductions for Canada (100 MT).  Exports of 129,700 MT were primarily to Thailand (49,500 MT), Mexico (47,400 MT), Canada (16,300 MT), Colombia (10,500 MT), and Jamaica (2,000 MT).

Soybean Oil:  Net sales of 24,800 MT for 2015/2016 were down 53 percent from the previous week.  Increases were reported for the Dominican Republic (12,100 MT), Guatemala (4,400 MT), the United Arab Emirates (4,000 MT), Mexico (3,700 MT), and Canada (500 MT).  Exports of 23,300 MT were primarily to Venezuela (10,000 MT), the United Arab Emirates (4,000 MT), Mexico (3,700 MT), and Jamaica (3,500 MT).

Cotton:   Net upland sales totaling 96,900 RB for 2015/2016 were up 44 percent from the previous week, but down 20 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (24,900 RB), Pakistan (16,800 RB), Turkey (15,300 RB), South Korea (9,000 RB), and Indonesia (8,700 RB, including 100 RB switched from Japan).  Net sales of 9,300 MT for 2016/2017 were reported for Mexico (8,400 RB) and Thailand (900 RB).  Exports of 61,200 RB were down 9 percent from the previous week and 35 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (16,300 RB), Turkey (9,900 RB), Indonesia (7,100 RB), Vietnam (5,100 RB), and China (4,000 RB).  Net sales of Pima totaling 7,100 RB for 2015/2016 were up noticeably from the previous week and 37 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (4,600 RB), Vietnam (1,400 RB, switched from Indonesia), Egypt (900 RB), and Bangladesh (500 RB).  Reductions were reported for Indonesia (1,400 RB).  Exports of 4,300 RB were down 42 percent from the previous week and 26 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were India (1,600 RB), Peru (900 RB), Bangladesh (600 RB), and Thailand (500 RB). 

Exports for Own Account:  New exports for own account totaling 4,100 RB were reported to Vietnam.  The current outstanding balance is 61,300 RB, and is for China (45,900 RB) and Vietnam (15,400 RB).

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 420,900 pieces for 2015 were up 59 percent from the previous week and 19 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide sales of 421,200 pieces were primarily for China (319,000 pieces), South Korea (41,400 pieces), Taiwan (19,600 pieces), Mexico (16,000 pieces), and Thailand (11,500 pieces).  Exports of 369,600 pieces were down 4 percent from the previous week and 10 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide exports of 363,800 pieces were primarily to China (190,300 pieces), South Korea (92,300 pieces), Mexico (30,700 pieces), Taiwan (13,400 pieces), and Italy (11,500 pieces).  

Net sales of 32,500 wet blues for 2015 were down 55 percent from the previous week, but up 22 percent and from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (7,600 unsplit and 6,600 grain splits), Italy (10,800 unsplit), Mexico (4,500 grain splits), and Taiwan (2,000 unsplit).  For 2016, net sales of 30,500 wet blues resulted as increases for Italy (34,000 unsplit), Hong Kong (4,000 grain splits), and India (2,000 grain splits), were partially offset by reductions for China (8,400 grain splits) and India (1,000 unsplit).  Exports of 132,000 wet blues were down 13 percent from the previous week and 1 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (26,100 grain splits and 19,600 unsplit), Italy (23,400 unsplit and 5,400 grain splits), Mexico (20,700 grain splits and 3,100 unsplit), and Vietnam (12,000 unsplit and 4,800 grain splits).  Net sales reductions of splits totaling 211,400 pounds for 2015 were for Vietnam (172,900 pounds) and South Korea (38,400 pounds).  For 2016, net sales reductions of 254,200 pounds were for Vietnam (228,700 pounds) and China (25,000 pounds).  Exports of 2,072,000 pounds were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were Vietnam (2,021,800 pounds) and South Korea (50,200 pounds).

Beef:  Net sales of 9,300 MT for 2015 were down 33 percent from the previous week and 22 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Japan (3,600 MT), Mexico (1,800 MT), South Korea (1,700 MT), Senegal (1,100 MT), and Hong Kong (500 MT), were partially offset by reductions for Egypt (400 MT) and the Philippines (100 MT).  Net sales of 500 MT for 2016 were reported primarily for Hong Kong (300 MT).  Exports of 12,300 MT were up 5 percent from the previous week and 6 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Hong Kong (3,000 MT), Japan (2,700 MT), South Korea (2,100 MT), Mexico (2,000 MT), and Canada (1,100 MT).

Pork:  Net sales of 8,600 MT for 2015 were down 64 percent from the previous week and 60 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Japan (2,800 MT), South Korea (1,600 MT), Mexico (1,200 MT), Colombia (800 MT), and China (600 MT).  Net sales of 1,200 MT for 2016 were reported for South Korea.  Exports of 17,600 MT were down 2 percent from the previous week, but unchanged from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (5,600 MT), Japan (3,700 MT), South Korea (2,500 MT), Canada (1,400 MT), and the Philippines (900 MT).
