In celebration of 50 Years of Versatile four-wheel drive production, the company has introduced a new color scheme across the entire Versatile product line, returning to the historic red, yellow and black colors that made the tractors famous between 1966 and 1986. The new color scheme was first unveiled at the annual Versatile Dealer Meeting in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, wrapping up a year of celebrations that included a run of 50 Legendary Limited Edition tractors and the restoration of the famous 1977 Versatile 1080, also known as Big Roy.
“When we released the images of the Legendary Limited Editions in December of last year, the response from dealers and customers was overwhelming,” says Adam Reid, Director of Marketing. “Through social media and at trade shows, at customer events and at dealerships, the resounding feedback was the Versatiles should be red and black and yellow; and that now expands beyond just tractors.”
Versatile was the first company to mass-produce articulated four-wheel drive tractors starting in 1966. The company changed ownership several times and in 1986 was purchased by Ford, later rebranded New Holland. In 2000, CNH sold the Versatile facility to Buhler Industries Inc. The Versatile name returned to prominence in 2008 and the product line has since expanded to include self-propelled sprayers, combines and a line of precision seeding and tillage equipment.
