Detroit Auto Show 2014 Debut of  NEW 2015 Ford F-150

DETROIT, MI- The 2015 Ford F-150 has arrived.

Ford Motor Co. unveiled the all-new full-size pickup Monday morning during an over-the-top presentation featuring a stage that took up nearly the entire length of Joe Louis Arena, where the vehicle was unveiled for the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

Raj Nair, Ford group vice president, Global Product Development, said the vehicle is "setting the standard for the future of trucks."

"We’ve taken the best truck in the world and made it better in every way," he said during the unveiling. "This is our toughest, smartest, most capable F-150 we’ve ever done."

The vehicle is up to 700 pounds lighter thanks to an all-new high-strength steel frame and high-strength aluminum-alloy body.

Ford also added a new 2.7-liter EcoBoost with standard Auto Start-Stop, which turns off the engine when a vehicle stops, and a 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6. The company will continue to offer a 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine and 5.0-liter V8. According to Ford, the 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine features a lightweight, compact design to deliver the same power as some mid-range V8s.
