Wheat Market In Saskatchewan Looks Positive

A crops analyst says there are a few positive signs in the market for Saskatchewan wheat farmers.

Bruce Burnett with G3 Canada says the U.S. is harvesting a bumper wheat crop but protein content is low, which could lead to protein premiums for Saskatchewan wheat.

As well, he says the Western European wheat crop has suffered significantly from excessive rain, and yields are down 20 to 30 per-cent.

Burnett says the poor wheat crop in Europe will keep prices from being pressured too much by the near record U.S. crop
