John Deere Golf has introduced the latest model in its popular TerrainCut line: the 8800 TerrainCut Rotary Mower. Powerful, comfortable and easy to use, the 8800 TerrainCut was also designed with ground following, quality of cut and quick height-of-cut adjustments in mind.

Intuitive and simple to operate, the 8800 TerrainCut features new decks for 2009 with an innovative height-of-cut (HOC) adjustment that ranges from one to four inches in quarter-inch increments. With no tool adjustments necessary, the HOC system uses a notched-based structure that ensures the rollers stay in place once the hand lever is in position.
Designed for the demands of the rough as well as ease of use, the 8800 TerrainCut features an exceptionally strong deck, built to endure the most rigorous mowing routines. "The new deck system is based on our 7400 Trim and Surround mower, introduced in 2008," said Breningmeyer. "The frame design adds strength to protect the deck, but does not sacrifice quick height changes."
Dual-pedal controls make forward and reverse movement easier than ever. Thanks to the operator command arm, Sit-on-Seat diagnostics and John Deere's patented White Bo™ Controller, users can resolve problems immediately, without stepping off the mower.
The TerrainCut 8800 also employs a brawny, turbo-charged, 43.1-hp diesel engine that provides the power to mow, climb or do both. Climbing is worry-free, thanks to John Deere's exclusive GRIP All-Wheel Drive system, which ensures that hydraulic traction power is maintained at all times on all levels of incline.
To produce the best possible quality of cut, the TerrainCut 8800 includes a double-yoke system. With the double yoke, decks have a full range of motion independent of the hydraulic lift system, allowing users to follow the most demanding terrain contours superbly. In addition, operators benefit from a double-acting steering cylinder that equalizes turning efforts, achieving a straighter line with less effort.
John Deere created the 8800 TerrainCut with an emphasis on operator comfort and safety. The mower provides ample leg and foot room and features wide-spaced traction controls to accommodate all users. Operators also benefit from foot-operated tilt steering and parking brake operation. Seatbelts, ROPS and even cup holders are standard.
