( TOPEKA ) – The Kansas Livestock Foundation (KLF) has received a generous donation from the estates of Clyde H. Lindstrom and Glenn R. Lindstrom of Falun. The $50,000 gift will be used to establish the Glenn and Clyde Lindstrom Kansas Livestock Foundation Scholarship.

The Lindstrom brothers, who both passed away in 2007, resided for a lifetime on the family farm southwest of Falun. Together they operated a farming and cattle business. With no close heirs, the Lindstrom brothers saw an opportunity to assist others through their estate planning by donating their assets to worthy charities.

The Glenn and Clyde Lindstrom Kansas Livestock Foundation Scholarships will be geared toward any student of at least sophomore level attending a Kansas junior or senior college and pursuing a degree in agriculture. Preference will be given to students residing within the boundaries of Unified School District 400 in northern McPherson and southern Saline Counties . Two scholarships will be available each year, beginning the fall of 2010.

KLF was established in 1983 to operate solely and exclusively for charitable, scientific and educational purposes that advance the interests of the Kansas livestock industry. For information about KLF scholarship offerings or to receive an application, contact the foundation at 6031 S.W. 37th St. , Topeka , KS 66614 or e-mail ryan@kla.org.
