Frontier Equipment Introduces New Bale Wrappers & Bale Carriers

LENEXA, Kansas — Frontier Equipment adds several new hay tools to its equipment portfolio: two inline bale wrappers and two bale carriers. Customers can use these tools to protect their large round silage bales from the weather or to quickly and easily move bales as needed.

Frontier's LW1166 Bale Wrapper wraps four- or five-foot-wide round bales up to 66 inches in diameter for silage.

"The LW1166 is built with a Quick-Start Deck that's hydraulically operated and eliminates the need for an extra bale ramp. This makes it easy for customers to start a new row of bales. The lowered deck provides plenty of braking to keep bales stacked neat and tight. Film sensors are standard equipment and automatically shut down the wrapping cycle when the machine runs out of film. A 13-horsepower engine and hydraulic pump provide independent power to operate the machine. High-traction implement-tires are also included to provide sure-footed grip for the machine on wet or uneven terrain," says Michael Horrell, Frontier marketing manager.

The LW1166 Bale Wrapper can be fitted with a number of productivity-boosting options, including a remote control to steer, to start and stop the wrapper. A single- or dual-power drive option can be added to maneuver the bale wrapper without it being hooked to a tractor. Extra work lights also can be ordered to enhance visibility during nighttime operation. Another available option is the twin-wrap kit that applies two layers of wrap to each bale and speeds up the wrapping process.

"There's a 20-horsepower-engine option for customers who want to increase capacity and wrap more bales in less time," says Horrell.

Frontier's other new bale wrapper is the LW1266 — ideal for customers who need to wrap large round or square bales to make silage hay. Customers can wrap round bales in either four- or five-foot widths up to 72 inches in diameter and square bales up to five-foot six inches in length.

"The LW1266 is equipped with the same standard features of the LW1166 and is an excellent choice to handle large-scale jobs or jobs that require additional capacity and versatility. Since the LW1266 can wrap large round or square bales, it makes an excellent choice for dairies or commercial-hay operators. Customers can use the bale wrapper's roller-bed locking lever to quickly switch from round to square bales. The over-center lever raises and lowers the roller bed and locks it firmly into place," says Horrell.

The LW1266 is available with the same options as the LW1166. In addition, the LW1266 can be fitted with the optional Power Jack that hydraulically raises and levels the bale ramp and eliminates air pockets between bales when a new row is started. The bale ramp automatically lowers after three bales have been wrapped. Available guide rollers keep the bales on the ramp — even while working on uneven terrain.

To provide hay producers with a way to move large round bales quickly and efficiently, Frontier offers the BC11 Series Bales Carrier. These bale carriers can be used to move wet bales for silage or to move dry bales. An operator can use a BC11 Series Bale Carrier to easily load, haul, and stack round bales and do it all from the operator station of their tractor. Two models are available — the BC1104 and BC1108.

The BC1104 hauls up to four bales, four-feet in width – or three bales, five-feet in width, with a maximum diameter of 66 inches. The BC1108 carries up to eight, four-foot-wide bales, or six, five-foot-wide bales with a maximum diameter of 60 inches.
