2011 Post-Harvest Cash Advances Now Available from CCGA

Winnipeg, Manitoba – Effective today, the Canadian Canola Growers Association (CCGA) is now accepting applications for the 2011 fall cash advance program. “The Post-Harvest Advance Payment Program was established to help farmers generate cash flow from their stored crops, while giving them the flexibility to time the marketing of their grain sales,” says Rick White, General Manager of the CCGA.

Under the Advance Payment Program, farmers are eligible for a cash advance of up to $400,000 – $100,000 interest-free and the remaining $300,000 at competitive interest rates. Post harvest advances for this production period are available from the CCGA until March 1, 2012.

“We’re always looking for new ways to better serve our cash advance customers,” says White. “This year, in addition to our normal process of accepting applications by mail, we began accepting applications by fax.” This small change has reduced the application submission time by three to five days for most applicants.

Producers can apply for a Post Harvest Advance on-line at www.ccga.ca. For those who prefer to complete their application with the assistance of a customer service representative, contact the CCGA at 1-866-745-2256 to complete a telephone application. Applications are also available at many local elevators.
