AAFC ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL GF2 FUNDING FOR PULSES

This morning the Honorable Lawrence MacAulay, Minister for Agriculture and Agri-Food, met with Pulse Canada and CSCA representatives in Saskatoon to discuss ongoing market access challenges with India and the path forward for the Canadian pulse industry.

At the meeting, Minister MacAulay also announced an investment of over $575,000 under AAFC’s GF2 program for market research and development projects that will help the Canadian pulse industry develop new opportunities for pulses and pulse ingredients.

With this funding, Pulse Canada will enhance efforts to create new markets for pulses in China, Eastern Asia, the United States and Canada. This market diversification strategy will strengthen the resiliency of Canada’s pulse industry and help the Government of Canada achieve its target of growing agriculture and food exports to over $75 billion by 2025.
