Brazil's government crop supply agency, Conab, estimates this year's dry bean production at 3.3 million tons, up 13.8 percent from last year. Production in Parana, the No. 1 producing state, is estimated at 702,000 tons, up 3.5 percent from the previous year. Minas Gerais' crop is pegged at 684,000 tons, three percent more than a year ago. Converting from metric tons to hundredweight, or bags, Brazil's crop estimate totals 72.7 million bags.
