Cargill Shutting Down Quebec Meat Plant Due To COVID-19 Outbreak

Cargill will be shutting down a meat-processing plant south of Montreal this week following an outbreak of COVID-19.

It's being reported that over 60 employees, or about 13 per cent of workers, have tested positive for the disease.

The union representing workers says over 170 employees are at home because they are sick or have come into contact with someone displaying symptoms.

A union spokesperson says protective measures were in place at the plant.
