4-H clubs across the country are receiving financial boosts from an industry finance lender.

Farm Credit Canada (FCC) is investing a total of $100,000 into 203 4-H clubs through the FCC 4-H Club Fund. The total fund amount is $250,000, which is also used for provincial and national 4-H initiatives.

Of the available $100,000, each individual club, district or region can receive grants up to $500 for various uses, including developing programs and activities, transportation costs, speaker fees and equipment purchases.

Investing in these clubs help provide members with opportunities and skills they can use in different aspects of life.

“By providing opportunities for young people to learn and grow, 4-H clubs across the country are preparing the next generation for success,” Todd Klink, executive vice-president and chief marketing officer at FCC, said in a Jan. 26 statement. “FCC is proud to support these initiatives and the 4-H clubs that are helping develop our future leaders.”

FCC and 4-H have been working together for 25 years.

“The FCC 4-H Club Fund helps build capacity for 4-H clubs and leaders to create programming that focuses on delivering world-class positive youth development…,” Shannon Benner, CEO of 4-H Canada, said in a statement.

The next round of applications for grants from the FCC 4-H Club Fund opens in August 2021.
