Author Richelle E. Goodrich wrote the following poem in her book Slaying Dragons: Quotes, Poetry & a few Short Stories for Every Day of the Year:

“Treats and tricks.
Witch broomsticks.
Jack-o-lanterns
Lick their lips.

Crows and cats.
Vampire bats.
Capes and fangs
And pointed hats.

Werewolves howl.
Phantoms prowl.
Halloween’s
Upon us now.”

Indeed, the haunted holiday approaches.

And to help farm families prepare for Halloween, Farms.com is launching its Halloween Countdown Calendar for the month of October.

“Halloween is one of the few times of the year when anything goes when it comes to costumes or anything spooky,” said Graham Dyer, president and CEO of Farms.com. “We invite farm families to enjoy the Countdown Calendar together and harvest some ideas for their own Halloween activities.”

Each day in October, visitors can unlock a new Halloween video on the calendar.

The video for Oct. 1, for example, is a slide show of a pumpkin farm and some of the attractions it has for visitors in the fall.

While the video for Oct. 31 provides tips for safe trick-or-treating.

In between, visitors can find videos about Halloween crafts, decorating ideas and amazing pumpkin sculptures.

And if someone is looking for a scary movie to watch, Farms.com has that covered too.

Check out this list of 10 horror movies set on farms.

If you’ve seen those, try this list of eight additional horror films with ag twists.

Happy Halloween from everyone at Farms.com!
