DuPont Pioneer delivers $56,000 to local youth
Leaders Helping Leaders sales excellence program gives young leaders a local boost

CHATHAM, Ontario - June 4, 2014 -More than 75 local students and 4-H clubs throughout Canada will receive a boost, thanks to the DuPont Pioneer Leaders Helping Leaders grant program. The program - part of the business Sales Excellence Awards- allows top Pioneer sales representatives the opportunity to contribute to 4-H clubs or scholarship programs for post- secondary youth in their own community.
"Pioneer sales representatives play important roles in their communities, so Pioneer giving begins with them," says Blaine Calkins, sales manager with DuPont Pioneer. "Leaders Helping Leaders allows our top sales leaders to do just that - help foster additional leadership right in their own communities."
Up to 60 Pioneer sales representatives are selected across Canada each year for the award. Among the award's perks is the opportunity to direct $1,000 to young leaders in their local community. The award winners decide where to direct their prize money between 4H and an educational scholarship, sometimes supporting both causes.
"For a local high school student who is getting ready for college or university in the fall, or for 4-H participants learning leadership skills, this grant program can make a big difference," says Calkins. "For many of our sales representatives, awarding this grant is the best part of winning their Sales Excellence Award."
