TORONTO — Todd Smith, Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, issued the following statement regarding Ontario's participation at the 2019 BIO International Convention in Philadelphia:
"On Monday, I will be sharing Ontario's open for business, open for jobs message at the BIO Convention with business leaders from around the world.
Companies from 67 countries come to BIO, including global leaders in biotechnology and the pharmaceutical industry, to connect with potential new partners, investors and customers. The conference is a great opportunity to showcase Ontario's life sciences excellence, technology leadership and exceptional talent. This year, I am pleased to be joined by 15 innovative Ontario companies to participate in our business mission to BIO.
We're making Ontario a great place to invest, and so far in 2019, Ontario has led Canada in job creation with more than 115,000 jobs. At BIO we will work to add to that total, showing life sciences companies from around the world that Ontario is open for business and open for jobs."
