Nutritional Value of Animal Proteins Fed To Pigs

Dr. Hans H. Stein discusses various aspects of feeding animal proteins to pigs. Dr. Stein explains the importance of ash in assessing the nutritional value of feed ingredients, and describes a recent decline in the nutritional value of fish meal. Finally, he discusses the use of several alternative animal protein sources for use in swine diets: byproducts from the poultry industry, intestinal byproducts, and blood products.
