Storm Update

It was loud, windy, and wet in Portage early this morning, as a pair of storm systems roared through the region, and across most of southern Manitoba.

Manitoba Agriculture's weather site reports about 46 mm of rain fell from the first system, and Environment Canada's Mike McDonald says that's in line with reports they've received. He updates us on what's happening.

"Our current radar shows the intense band of thunderstorms stretches from about Selkirk right through Winnipeg, and then southwestward toward Pilot Mound," he says. "And then once you get west of there, toward Portage la Prairie, you're now on the back edge of the system. And as a matter of fact, the satellite imagery starts to show skies clearing off over western Manitoba."

McDonald expects we'll see sunshine and warm temperatures later today, which might not be the best news.
