UFA Partners with Non-Profit Inclusion Foothills to Bring New Events to Community - Kicks-off with special “Sneak Peek” this Saturday -

Calgary, Alberta - UFA has partnered ith Inclusion Foothills in providing a new outdoor event space, with the cornerstone being the High River Fall Farmers’ Market on Saturdays. This new initiative kicks-off this weekend with a special “Sneak Peek” on Saturday to showcase the space and opportunities including vendors, a Show and Shine and local entertainment.

Next Saturday, September 12, will mark the inaugural Fall Farmers’ Market at the High River UFA Farm & Ranch Supply location. The market will run for five weeks through to the final event on October 9 and 10, a two-day celebration for Thanksgiving.

The Saturday markets are an extension of the current High River Farmers’ Market that takes place on
4th Avenue in downtown High River. The Thursday market will run until September 17.

Inclusion Foothills provides support, education and information to families who are living or are connected to someone with a barrier or disability. Extending the market offers further opportunities for those in the organization’s employment programs who work in key functions at the market.

“We’re really looking forward to this project,” says Natalie Wuthrich, CR2EW Community Connector at Inclusion Foothills. “Partnering with a company like UFA is a huge opportunity for a non-profit like Inclusion Foothills. It really opens up the scope in our communities to a level that has never been bridged before.”

The Saturday market day also offers the opportunity for vendors and customers to attend on the weekend, who otherwise might not have been able to during the week.

The partnership from UFA’s point-of-view fits well with the commitment to support programs and services that create lasting and meaningful impacts in the communities they serve.

“Many of our customers are also vendors here and it is a privilege to stand alongside them in support of all the hard work they do in providing safe and healthy food and other goods,” says Tom Fox, Area Manager for UFA.
