USDA: Export Sales report

Wheat:  Net sales of 239,200 MT for delivery in the 2012/2013 marketing year were up 9 percent from the previous week, but down 13 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for Chile (74,400 MT), Indonesia (65,700 MT, including 60,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Mexico (63,000 MT), the Philippines (45,000 MT), Namibia (27,500 MT, including 25,000 MT switched from Haiti), and Costa Rica (15,200 MT, including 14,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (48,500 MT), Haiti (25,000 MT)and Brazil (4,500 MT).  Net sales of 226,300 MT for delivery in the 2013/2014 marketing year were primarily for unknown destinations (69,000 MT), Brazil (55,000 MT), Mexico (32,000 MT), and Japan (22,400 MT).  Decreases were reported for Vietnam (1,000 MT).  Exports of 559,700 MT were down 34 percent from the previous week and 22 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Chile (72,400 MT), Mexico (70,100 MT), Indonesia (65,700 MT), Japan (63,400 MT), Thailand (51,300 MT), and Algeria (42,200 MT).

Corn:  Net sales of 115,800 MT for 2012/2013 were down 65 percent from the previous week and 62 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for Japan (89,900 MT, including 31, 000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Venezuela (73,000 MT, including 27,500 MT switched from unknown destinations), Mexico (22,900 MT), Costa Rica (9,100 MT, including 7,800 MT switched from unknown destinations), Canada (3,800 MT), and Honduras (2,500 MT), were partially offset by decreases for Colombia (60,000 MT) and unknown destinations (26,400 MT).  Net sales of 169,900 MT for 2013/2014 were for China (75,000 MT), Saudi Arabia (62,000 MT), Japan (24,700 MT), and Jamaica (8,300 MT).  Exports of 192,100 MT were down 52 percent from the previous week and 41 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (83,200 MT), Japan (54,100 MT), Venezuela (30,000 MT), Costa Rica (9,100 MT), and Taiwan (7,700 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:   For 2012/2013, outstanding optional origin sales total 264,000 MT, all South Korea.  For 2013/2014, outstanding optional origin sales total 100,000 MT, all Mexico.

Barley: Net sales of 300 MT were reported for Taiwan.  There were no exports reported during the week. 

Sorghum:  Net sales of 1,700 MT for 2012/2013 were reported for unknown destinations.  Net sales of 120,000 MT for 2013/2014 were for unknown destinations.  Exports of 500 MT were reported to Mexico.

Rice:  Net sales of 38,300 MT for the 2012/2013 were down 53 percent from the previous week and 39 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for South Korea (14,600 MT), Guatemala (9,100 MT, including 8,500 MT switched from unknown destinations), Haiti (7,500 MT), El Salvador (5,000 MT), and Mexico (4,400 MT).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (8,500 MT).  Exports of 114,200 MT were up 4 percent from the previous week and 34 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were to Mexico (38,100 MT), Japan (25,400 MT), Ghana (9,800 MT), Guatemala (9,100 MT), and Honduras (8,800 MT).

Soybeans:  Net sales of 193,800 MT for 2012/2013 resulted as increases for Mexico (84,400 MT), Indonesia (50,200 MT), Japan (26,300 MT), Malaysia (24,000 MT, switched from unknown destinations), and China (6,100 MT), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (15,000 MT).  Net sales of 391,700 MT for 2013/2014 were primarily for China (360,000 MT) and unknown destinations (20,000 MT).  Exports of 171,800 MT were down 52 percent from the previous week and 49 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (66,600 MT), Japan (31,300 MT), Malaysia (24,200 MT), Indonesia (15,100 MT), Taiwan (12,400 MT), and Mexico (10,800 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:   For 2013/2014, outstanding optional origin sales total 130,000 MT, all China.  

Soybean Cake and Meal:  Net sales of 34,400 MT for 2012/2013--a marketing-year low--resulted as increases for Guatemala (13,400 MT), Venezuela (12,500 MT, switched from unknown destinations)Canada (11,000 MT), Bangladesh (8,800 MT), Panama (6,800 MT, switched from unknown destinations), and Nicaragua (4,800 MT, including 3,200 MT switched from unknown destinations), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (24,700 MT), Mexico (15,600 MT), and Honduras (1,700 MT).   Net sales of 37,400 MT for the 2013/2014 marketing year resulted as increases for Canada (41,900 MT), were partially offset by decreases for Trinidad (4,500 MT).  Exports of 93,400 MT were down 21 percent from the previous week and 35 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (23,300 MT), Canada (15,500 MT), Venezuela (12,500 MT), Panama (6,800 MT), Guatemala (6,200 MT), Taiwan (5,800 MT), and the Philippines (4,500 MT). 

Soybean Oil:  Net sales of 900 MT for 2012/2013 resulted as increases for Venezuela (5,000 MT), Canada (900 MT), and Trinidad (100 MT), were partially offset by decreases for Mexico (5,300 MT).  Exports of 9,500 MT were up noticeably from the previous week, but down 28 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Venezuela (5,000 MT), Mexico (3,500 MT), Canada (800 MT), and Trinidad (100 MT).  

Cotton:  Net Upland sales of 117,300 running bales for 2012/2013 were down 63 percent from the previous week and 49 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (52,400 RB, including 3,500 RB switched from South Korea and decreases of 1,100 RB), Vietnam (34,700 RB), Turkey (9,400 RB), Taiwan (5,500 RB), and Japan (3,500 RB).  Decreases were reported for South Korea (2,800 RB).  Net sales of 84,000 RB for 2013/2014 were primarily for Morocco (48,600 RB) and Mexico (18,000 RB).   Exports of 277,100 RB were down 24 percent from the previous week and 19 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (94,100 RB), Turkey (62,800 RB), Mexico (16,600 RB), Indonesia (12,700 RB), Bangladesh (10,500 RB), and South Korea (9,800 RB).  Net American Pima sales of 1,300 RB for 2012/2013 were down 86 percent from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported primarily for Pakistan (900 RB) and China (300 RB).  Exports of 20,600 RB were up 38 percent from the previous week and 2 percent from the prior 4-week average.   Increases were primarily to China (10,700 RB), India (3,300 RB), Indonesia (2,600 RB), and Egypt (1,500 RB).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2012/2013, options were exercised to export 500 RB to China from the United States.  Outstanding optional origin sales total 36,800 RB, and are for South Korea (18,000 RB)China (15,400 RB), Thailand (3,100 RB), and Vietnam (300 RB).

Exports for Own Account:  The current exports for own account balance is 75,600 RB, and is for China (74,500 RB) and Vietnam (1,100 RB).

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 363,600 pieces reported for delivery in 2013 were down 2 percent from the previous week and 10 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide sales of 363,000 pieces were primarily for China (256,700 pieces), Mexico (27,100 pieces), South Korea (25,900 pieces), Taiwan (16,500 pieces), and Vietnam (9,700 pieces).  Exports of 366,400 pieces were down 24 percent from the previous week and 19 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle exports of 363,400 pieces were primarily to China (243,900 pieces), South Korea (75,600 pieces), Mexico (12,900 pieces), Thailand (10,300 pieces), and Taiwan (6,900 pieces).    

Net sales of 140,200 wet blues for 2013 were primarily for Mexico (48,500 grain splits and 1,300 unsplit), Italy (44,600 unsplit), China (27,000 unsplit), and Taiwan (5,300 unsplit).  Exports of 115,700 hides were primarily to Italy (28,600 unsplit), China (28,000 unsplit), Mexico (20,600 grain splits and 3,300 unsplit), and Vietnam (9,800 unsplit).  No net sales of splits reported for the week.   Exports of 45,000 pounds were to Italy. 

Beef:  Net sales of 10,100 MT for 2013 were down 30 percent from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Japan (5,000 MT), Mexico (2,000 MT), Canada (1,300 MT), and Hong Kong (1,000 MT).  Exports of 11,400 MT were primarily to Japan (3,900 MT), Mexico (2,300 MT), South Korea (1,200 MT), Canada (1,100 MT), and Hong Kong (900 MT).

Export Adjustments:  Accumulated exports to Canada for week ending 3/14/13 were adjusted down 1,400 MT and week ending 3/21/13 adjusted down 1,800 MT.

Pork: Net sales of 9,600 MT for 2013 were primarily for Mexico (1,700 MT), Australia (1,600 MT), South Korea (1,500 MT), Canada (900 MT), and Hong Kong (700 MT).  Exports of 11,000 MT were primarily to Mexico (3,500 MT), Australia (1,600 MT), Canada (1,300 MT), Japan (1,300 MT), and Honduras (700 MT).
