USDA: Export Sales Reports

Wheat:  Net sales of 372,600 MT for the 2012/2013 marketing year were down 47 percent from the previous week and 23 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for unknown destinations (134,800 MT), Brazil (56,500 MT), Japan (46,500 MT), Chile (38,500 MT), Italy (31,600 MT), and South Korea (30,500 MT).  Decreases were reported for China (54,000 MT) and Egypt (2,900 MT).  Net sales of 152,300 MT for the 2013/2014 marketing year were reported primarily for unknown destinations (82,500 MT), China (59,300 MT), and Mexico (10,000 MT).  Exports of 584,700 MT were up 13 percent from the previous week and 8 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (186,700 MT), Egypt (74,600 MT), Turkey (65,800 MT), Nigeria (50,500 MT), Chile (38,500 MT), Peru (35,600 MT), and Italy (31,600 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:   For 2012/2013, outstanding optional origin sales total 90,000 MT, all Algeria.

Corn:  Net sales of 302,600 MT for the 2012/2013 marketing year were down 16 percent from the previous week, but up 28 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (98,700 MT), Japan (56,800 MT), unknown destinations (44,900 MT), Cuba (25,000 MT), and Venezuela (20,500 MT).  Net sales of 210,000 MT for the 2013/2014 marketing year were for unknown destinations (110,000 MT), China (67,000 MT), and Mexico (33,000 MT).  Exports of 296,300 MT were up 15 percent from the previous week, but down 19 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (173,900 MT), Venezuela (67,000 MT), Mexico (17,000 MT), Jamaica (10,500 MT), and Taiwan (8,600 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:   For 2012/2013, optional origin sales totaling 11,100 MT were reported for South Korea.  Options were exercised export 66,000 MT to South Korea from other than the United States.  Outstanding optional origin sales total 63,000 MT, all South Korea.  For 2013/2014, outstanding optional origin sales total 30,000 MT, all Mexico.

Barley:   Net sales of 1,000 MT were reported for Taiwan.  Exports of 100 MT were reported to Taiwan.

Sorghum:  Net sales of 13,000 MT for the 2012/2013 marketing year were reported for Japan (10,000 MT) and unknown destinations (3,000 MT).  Net sales of 10,000 MT for delivery in the 2013/2014 marketing year were for Japan.  Exports of 1,400 MT were reported to Mexico.

Rice:  Net sales of 49,500 MT for the 2012/2013 marketing year were down 23 percent from the previous week and 44 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (16,400 MT), Ghana (7,000 MT), Costa Rica (6,200 MT), Japan (5,500 MT), and South Korea (5,300 MT).  Exports of 34,000 MT were down 69 percent from the previous week and 59 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (22,100 MT), South Korea (3,400 MT), Jordan (3,000 MT), Canada (1,700 MT), and Taiwan (1,400 MT).

Soybeans:  Net sales of 689,000 MT for the 2012/2013 marketing year resulted as increases for China (474,800 MT, including 25,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 4,800 MT), Indonesia (98,300 MT, including 69,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 1,700 MT), the Netherlands (75,900 MT, including 70,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Japan (45,800 MT, including 9,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Mexico (38,700 MT), and South Korea (27,700 MT, including 30,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 2,300 MT), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (126,800 MT).  Net sales of 482,000 MT for delivery in the 2013/2014 marketing year were primarily for China (350,000 MT) and unknown destinations (115,000 MT).  Exports of 822,200 MT were down 14 percent from the previous week and 28 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (528,500 MT), the Netherlands (75,900 MT), Mexico (51,400 MT), Indonesia (40,800 MT), and Taiwan (30,800 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:   For 2013/2014, outstanding optional origin sales total 130,000 MT, all China.

Soybean Cake and Meal:  Net sales of 250,300 MT for the 2012/2013 marketing year were up 6 percent from the previous week and 42 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for Poland (46,000 MT, including 43,700 MT switched from unknown destinations), Romania (41,800 MT, including 36,300 MT switched from unknown destinations), Colombia (38,100 MT, including 7,900 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 3,700 MT), Venezuela (38,000 MT, including 3,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), and Mexico (23,500 MT), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (15,000 MT).  Net sales of 24,300 MT for delivery in the 2013/2014 marketing year were reported for Mexico (23,300 MT) and the Dominican Republic (1,000 MT).  Exports of 322,700 MT were up 28 percent from the previous week, but down 1 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Poland (46,000 MT), Romania (41,800 MT), Ireland (36,400 MT), Mexico (29,500 MT), Egypt (29,500 MT), and Italy (26,400 MT). 

Soybean Oil:  Net sales of 4,800 MT for the 2012/2013 marketing year resulted as increases for South Korea (11,000 MT, switched from unknown destinations), China (9,000 MT, switched from unknown destinations), Mexico (4,100 MT), and Nicaragua (1,000 MT), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (20,000 MT) and Guatemala (1,000 MT).  Exports of 37,600 MT were down 11 percent from the previous week, but up 13 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were South Korea (11,000 MT), the Dominican Republic (9,800 MT), China (9,000 MT), and Mexico (5,200 MT).

Cotton:  Net Upland sales of 152,900 running bales for the 2012/2013 marketing year were down 11 percent from the previous week, but up 5 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Vietnam (34,300 RB), China (30,300 RB), Turkey (19,400 RB), Taiwan (10,300 RB), and Guatemala (9,000 RB, including 2,600 RB switched from El Salvador).  Decreases were reported for El Salvador (2,600 RB).  Net sales of 80,800 RB for delivery in the 2013/2014 marketing year were primarily for South Korea (46,900 RB), Mexico (18,200 RB), and Bangladesh (13,200 RB).  Decreases were reported for Morocco (10,100 RB).  Exports of 422,400 RB were up 8 percent from the previous week and 16 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (218,300 RB), Turkey (57,900 RB), Pakistan (36,100 RB), Mexico (18,000 RB), Vietnam (17,300 RB), and Thailand (17,200 RB).  Net American Pima sales of 24,700 RB for the 2012/2013 marketing year were up 67 percent from the previous week and 9 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (7,400 RB), Egypt (6,200 RB), Indonesia (6,000 RB), India (2,100 RB), and Bangladesh (1,700 RB).  Exports of 17,100 RB were down 2 percent from the previous week, but up 6 percent from the prior 4-week average.   Increases were primarily to China (9,600 RB), India (4,300 RB), Turkey (1,700 RB), and Pakistan (600 RB).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2012/2013, outstanding optional origin sales total 259,500 RB, and are for China (236,800 RB), South Korea (19,300 RB), Thailand (3,100 RB), and Vietnam (300 RB).

Exports for Own Account:  Exports for own account were reported for China (9,200 RB) and Vietnam (200 RB).  The current exports for own account balance is 93,300 RB, and is for China (92,700 RB) and Vietnam (600 RB).

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 425,000 pieces reported for delivery in 2013 were up 7 percent from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide sales of 414,900 pieces were primarily for China (309,000 pieces), South Korea (61,100 pieces), Taiwan (35,400 pieces), Indonesia (5,400 pieces), and Mexico (4,700 pieces).  Decreases were reported for Hong Kong (4,500 pieces) and India (2,300 pieces).  Exports of 447,500 pieces were down 12 percent from the previous week and 11 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle exports of 435,500 pieces were primarily to China (292,600 pieces), South Korea (71,000 pieces), Taiwan (38,200 pieces), Mexico (10,500 pieces), and Thailand (10,200 pieces).    

Net sales of 176,400 wet blues for delivery in 2013 were primarily for China (59,600 unsplit), Vietnam (44,400 unsplit), Italy (38,400 unsplit), and Mexico (24,300 grain splits and 100 unsplit).  Exports of 120,800 hides were primarily to China (38,800 unsplit), Mexico (25,800 grain splits and 2,100 unsplit), Vietnam (16,700 unsplit), and South Korea (11,400 grain splits).  Net sales of splits totaling 525,700 pounds for Hong Kong (404,100 pounds), South Korea (59,300 pounds), Taiwan (45,600 pounds), and India (42,100 pounds), were partially offset by decreases for Italy (25,400 pounds).  Exports of 249,500 pounds were to Hong Kong (127,900 pounds), South Korea (41,400 pounds), Italy (40,500 pounds), and India (39,700 pounds).

Beef:  Net sales of 3,900 MT resulted as increases for Mexico (3,600 MT), Canada (2,200 MT), South Korea (1,200 MT), Egypt (600 MT), and Taiwan (400 MT), were partially offset by decreases for Japan (5,800 MT).  Exports of 14,900 MT were primarily to Mexico (3,200 MT), Japan (2,200 MT), South Korea (1,900 MT), Canada (1,900 MT), and Vietnam (1,600 MT).
