Canola Council of Canada Board of Directors Elected

The Canola Council of Canada (CCC) Board of Directors has elected a new Chair and Executive Committee.

Pat Van Osch of Richardson Oilseeds was elected to a two-year term as Chair at the CCC’s annual general meeting in Scottsdale Arizona.

"I am honoured by the board’s confidence in me and excited about the next two years," said Van Osch. "Canola is already the number one crop in Canada but I have confidence there is still room for growth as an industry."

Van Osch succeeds Richard Wansbutter of Viterra who steps down following a two-year term.

"It’s been an honour and privilege to serve as chair of the board," said Wansbutter. "It’s truly a great industry. I particularly want to note that our oil promotion in the U.S. has been a huge success. We were also able to keep our emphasis on research and we secured new government funding for this. And of course I am proud of how we were able to pull together as an industry to address our market access challenges. All my best to Pat Van Osch. I know he’ll do a great job."

The other members of the CCC Board of Directors executive include:

Vice Chair: Brian Conn of LDM Foods

Second Vice Chair: Terry Youzwa of SaskCanola

Chair of Finance: Woody Galloway of Bunge

Director at large: Shaun Wildman of Viterra

The CCC AGM was held in conjunction with the National Institute of Oilseed Products annual meeting.

The CCC’s 2010 Annual Report was released today.
