USDA: Export Sales Highlights

Wheat:  Net sales of 455,500 MT for the 2011/12 marketing year were primarily for Japan (159,300 MT), Nigeria (74,000 MT), Taiwan (73,800 MT), Egypt (57,800 MT, including 55,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Mexico (40,900 MT), Brazil (27,000 MT), and Tunisia (23,100 MT, including 21,000 MT switched from Italy).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (40,600 MT) and Italy (21,000 MT).  Exports of 649,900 MT were mainly for Japan (106,000 MT), Mexico (91,400 MT), Nigeria (76,200 MT), the Philippines (67,800 MT), Indonesia (63,900 MT), Egypt (57,800 MT), and Yemen (54,800 MT).

Corn:  Net sales of 295,800 MT were down 8 percent from the previous week and 50 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for Japan (101,400 MT), China (65,700 MT, including 60,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), South Korea (54,500 MT, including 57,000 MT switched from Japan and decreases of 2,700 MT), Venezuela (36,500 MT), Canada (36,100 MT), and Spain (35,000 MT, switched from unknown destinations), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (138,600 MT).  Net sales of 598,900 MT for delivery in 2011/2012 were mainly reported for Mexico (548,600 MT) and Japan (45,700 MT).  Exports of 820,300 MT were down 18 percent from the previous week and 14 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (299,600 MT), Mexico (149,600 MT), Taiwan (140,900 MT), China (65,700 MT), South Korea (52,300 MT), and the Netherlands (33,000 MT).

Barley: Net sales of 800 MT were reported for Taiwan.  Exports of 300 MT were reported to Taiwan.

Sorghum:  Net sales of 2,800 MT--a marketing-year low--were down 96 percent from the previous week and 94 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Chile (1,400 MT), Japan (1,000 MT), and Mexico (400 MT).  Exports of 14,500 MT were reported to Mexico.

Rice:  Net sales of 13,200 MT--a marketing-year low--were down 88 percent from the previous week and 81 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (6,300 MT), Canada (3,800 MT), Nicaragua (500 MT), and Honduras (300 MT).  Net sales of 5,900 MT for delivery in 2011/2012 were reported for the Leeward and Windward Islands (6,000 MT).  Decreases were reported for Mexico (100 MT).  Exports of 47,800 MT were down 39 percent from the previous week and 40 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (25,700 MT), Haiti (7,300 MT), Saudi Arabia (4,300 MT), South Korea (2,900 MT), and Canada (2,200 MT).

Soybeans:  Net sales of 179,400 MT were up 49 percent from the previous week and 35 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for Japan (90,100 MT, including 36,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 5,800 MT), Indonesia (30,600 MT), Malaysia (24,900 MT, including 24,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Vietnam (12,300 MT), and Mexico (10,700 MT), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (12,000 MT).  Net sales of 6,000 MT for delivery in 2011/2012 were reported for Indonesia (5,000 MT) and Japan (1,000 MT).  Exports of 143,200 MT were down 17 percent from the previous week and 41 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were primarily to Japan (43,300 MT), Mexico (33,200 MT), Malaysia (25,300 MT), Indonesia (17,100 MT), and Taiwan (10,400 MT).

Soybean Cake and Meal:  Net sales of 80,100 MT were up 32 percent from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (18,900 MT), Venezuela (17,000 MT), Canada (14,300 MT), the Dominican Republic (9,500 MT), unknown destinations (7,200 MT), and Nicaragua (4,000 MT).  Exports of 55,700 MT--a marketing-year low--were down 39 percent from the previous week and 50 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (17,800 MT), Mexico (17,100 MT), Canada (13,600 MT),and Nicaragua (4,000 MT).

Soybean Oil:  Net sales of 10,700 MT resulted as increases for Morocco (5,500 MT) and Algeria (5,500 MT), were partially offset by decreases for Canada (900 MT).  Exports of 4,600 MT were down 63 percent from the previous week and 59 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (1,700 MT), Nicaragua (1,400 MT), El Salvador (800 MT), and Canada (700 MT).

Cotton:  Net Upland sales of 10,200 RB resulted as increases for China (18,400 RB), Egypt (4,400 RB), Peru (1,900 RB), Hong Kong (1,800 RB), and unknown destinations (1,100 RB), were partially offset by decreases for Mexico (5,000 RB), Colombia (4,000 RB), Turkey (4,000 RB), and Japan (3,400 RB).  Net sales of 37,400 RB for delivery in 2011/2012 resulted as increases for Turkey (41,800 RB).  Decreases were reported for China (4,000 RB), Indonesia (1,700 RB), and Mexico (1,600 RB).  Exports for own account were reported for China (4,900 RB).  Exports of 219,000 RB were up 4 percent from the previous week, but down 10 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (63,100 RB), Mexico (32,300 RB), Turkey (26,900 RB), Indonesia (16,200 RB), and Brazil (14,400 RB).  Net American Pima sales of 100 RB resulted as increases for Thailand (300 RB, switched from Japan) and Mexico (100 RB), were partially offset by decreases for Japan (300 RB).  Net sales of 1,800 RB for delivery in 2011/2012
were mainly for Peru (1,000 RB).  Exports of 8,100 RB were primarily to Indonesia (2,900 RB), China (2,500 RB), India (900 RB), and Germany (600 RB).

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 582,700 pieces were reported for delivery in 2011, up 48 percent from the previous week and 22 percent from the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hides of 581,400 pieces were primarily for China (385,800 pieces), Vietnam (63,400 pieces), South Korea (62,100 pieces), Taiwan (49,100 pieces), and Germany (5,900 pieces).  Decreases were reported for Italy (200 pieces).  Exports of 430,700 pieces were down 9 percent from the previous week and 3 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hides exports of 422,300 pieces were primarily to China (194,400 pieces), South Korea (94,700 pieces), Vietnam (28,500 pieces), Hong Kong (24,900 pieces), and Italy (21,000 pieces).               

Net sales of 170,200 wet blues for delivery in 2011 were primarily for China (111,300 unsplit), Vietnam (20,700 unsplit), Thailand (14,800 unsplit), the Dominican Republic (8,000 unsplit), Mexico (5,300 grain splits and 2,400 unsplit), and South Korea (2,400 grain splits and 900 unsplit).  Exports of 129,700 hides were primarily to China (37,600 unsplit and 1,900 grain splits), Italy (35,000 unsplit), Vietnam (20,900 unsplit), Taiwan (13,100 unsplit), and Mexico (3,900 grain splits and 2,800 unsplit).  Net sales reductions of splits totaling 31,900 pounds resulted as increases for Hong Kong (50,000 pounds), were more than offset by decreases for China (40,000 pounds), South Korea (30,400 pounds), Vietnam (6,800 pounds), Italy (4,400 pounds), and Indonesia (400 pounds).  Exports of 554,500 pounds were mainly to China (241,200 pounds) and South Korea (225,100 pounds).

Beef:  Net sales of 15,800 MT for delivery in 2011 were primarily for Japan (4,700 MT), Canada (3,800 MT), South Korea (2,100 MT), Mexico (1,300 MT), and Russia (1,300 MT).  Exports of 16,400 MT were mainly to Japan (3,800 MT), Mexico (3,400 MT), South Korea (2,500 MT), Canada (2,200 MT), and Vietnam (1,200 MT).

The bin build is up against it now. We've run out of room in the old system using the old dryer. The new dryer and new bins are not yet ready to use. Harvest holdups usually include weather and breakdowns, but this time we're sitting idle because we just have no place to go with our crop. And the harvest we have done has been really inefficient with no grain cart!
