USDA: Weekly Export Sales Report - 14 July

Wheat:  Net sales of 519,100 MT for the 2011/12 marketing year were primarily for Japan (128,300 MT), Mexico (121,800 MT), Nigeria (101,500 MT, including 25,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), South Africa (64,300 MT, including 56,600 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 2,200 MT), and Iraq (49,300 MT, switched from unknown destinations).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (93,100 MT), Colombia (17,900 MT), and Trinidad (5,000 MT).  Exports of 576,600 MT were mainly to the Philippines (73,200 MT), South Africa (64,300 MT), Nigeria (51,100 MT), Colombia (49,400 MT), Iraq (49,300 MT), Malaysia (49,100 MT), and Mexico (45,900 MT).

Corn:  Net sales of 481,300 MT were down 23 percent from the previous week and 5 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for Egypt (229,200 MT, including 45,000 MT switched from Singapore and decreases of 500 MT), South Korea (116,400 MT, including 60,000 MT switched from unknown destinations, 55,000 MT switched from Japan and decreases of 2,300 MT), Taiwan (83,000 MT, including 58,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), China (74,600 MT, including 59,600 MT switched from unknown destinations), Iran (62,000 MT), and Mexico (48,200 MT), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (299,000 MT) and Singapore (45,000 MT).  Net sales of 1,199,100 MT for delivery in 2011/2012 were mainly reported for China (540,000 MT), unknown destinations (360,000 MT), and South Korea (225,000 MT).  Decreases were reported for Honduras (3,000 MT).  Exports of 860,400 MT were down 17 percent from the previous week and 7 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (202,800 MT), South Korea (115,500 MT), Egypt (109,200 MT), Mexico (97,700 MT), Taiwan (87,200 MT), and China (59,600 MT).

Barley:   Net sales of 25,000 MT were reported for France.  Exports of 100 MT were reported to Taiwan.

Sorghum:  Net sales of 30,700 MT were up noticeably from the previous week and up 11 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (20,700 MT) and Chile (10,000 MT).  Net sales of 9,100 MT for delivery in 2011/2012 were for unknown destinations.  Exports of 19,600 MT were to Mexico.

Rice:  Net sales of 58,200 MT were down 46 percent from the previous week and 12 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (20,800 MT), Japan (12,200 MT), Togo (9,000 MT, switched from unknown destinations), Costa Rica (8,900 MT), and Honduras (7,100 MT).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (9,000 MT) and Libya (1,600 MT).  Exports of 61,000 MT were down 39 percent from the previous week and 25 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (12,300 MT), Libya (1,000 MT), Costa Rica (9,100 MT), Haiti (6,100 MT), and Mexico (5,800 MT).

Soybeans:  Net sales of 4,300 MT resulted as increases for Indonesia (114,100 MT, including 125,000 MT switched from unknown destination and decreases of 18,600 MT), China (93,000 MT), Malaysia (23,000 MT, including 20,000 MT switched from China), Taiwan (7,900 MT), and Costa Rica (6,600 MT, switched from unknown destinations), were more than offset by decreases for unknown destinations (201,600 MT) and Japan (49,400 MT).  Net sales of 651,900 MT for delivery in 2011/2012 were mainly reported for China (395,000 MT) and unknown destinations (180,000 MT).  Exports of 240,700 MT were up 59 percent from the previous week and 52 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were primarily to Indonesia (145,700 MT), Mexico (37,200 MT), Malaysia (21,400 MT), Japan (14,100 MT), and Taiwan (8,100 MT).

Soybean Cake and Meal:  Net sales of 14,700 MT resulted as increases for Mexico (12,000 MT), Canada (9,200 MT), Israel (8,400 MT, switched from unknown destinations), and Honduras (900 MT), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (8,500 MT), Colombia (5,000 MT), and Trinidad (2,300 MT).  Net sales of 1,000 MT for delivery in 2011/2012 were reported for Canada.  Exports of 77,100 MT were down 29 percent from the previous week and 21 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (30,000 MT), Canada (16,100 MT), Honduras (10,200 MT), Venezuela (8,700 MT), and Israel (8,400 MT).

Soybean Oil:  Net sales of 1,300 MT resulted as increases for Mexico (2,000 MT), were partially offset by decreases for Canada (700 MT).  Net sales of 300 MT for delivery in 2011/2012 were reported for Mexico.  Exports of 4,500 MT were down 79 percent from the previous week and 64 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (3,900 MT) and Canada (500 MT).

Cotton:  Net Upland sales reductions of 91,400 RB resulted as increases for Taiwan (3,500 RB, including 400 RB switched from Indonesia), Vietnam (500 RB, switched from Japan), and Thailand (300 RB, switched from Japan), were more than offset by decreases for China (38,900 RB), Bangladesh (18,200 RB), Mexico (14,100 RB), Turkey (6,600 RB), and Indonesia (5,100 RB).  Net sales of 43,200 RB for delivery in 2011/2012 were mainly for Turkey (20,100 RB), Mexico (7,400 RB), Bangladesh (5,000 RB), and Malaysia (5,000 RB).  Decreases were reported for Thailand (7,200 RB), and Pakistan (2,400 RB).  Exports for own account were reported for China (9,400 RB).  Exports of 117,200 RB were down 21 percent from the previous week and 34 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (49,500 RB), Mexico (17,600 RB), Turkey (13,700 RB), Bangladesh (6,900 RB), and South Korea (6,600 RB).  Net American Pima sales of 200 RB were for Belgium.  Net sales of 400 RB for delivery in 2011/2012 were reported for Pakistan.  Exports of 1,000 RB were primarily to Indonesia (500 RB), and Japan (300 RB).

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 354,300 pieces, were reported for delivery in 2011, down 12 percent from the previous week and 26 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were China (245,300 pieces), South Korea (31,500 pieces), Thailand (27,500 pieces), Vietnam (26,300 pieces) and Mexico (11,100 pieces).  Decreases were reported for Taiwan (300 pieces).  Exports of 399,900 pieces were down 11 percent from the previous week and 12 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hides exports of 395,900 pieces were primarily to China (195,100 pieces), South Korea (87,900 pieces), Thailand (29,600 pieces), Vietnam (26,200 pieces), and Mexico (20,200 pieces).               

Net sales of 95,600 wet blues for delivery in 2011 were primarily for China (33,000 unsplit and 2,400 grain splits), Mexico (27,000 grain splits and 1,100 unsplit), the Dominican Republic (11,000 grain splits and 1,500 unsplit), Thailand (8,600 unsplit), and Vietnam (4,800 unsplit).  Decreases were report for Japan (200 grain splits) and Germany (100 grain splits).  Exports of 132,900 hides were primarily to China (53,700 unsplit and 9,000 grain splits), Vietnam (16,200 unsplit), Italy (14,400 unsplit), and Thailand (10,100 unsplit).  Net sales of splits totaling 38,600 pounds reported for South Korea (34,400 pounds), Italy (6,700 pounds), and Vietnam (400 pounds) were partially offset by decreases for China (2,800 pounds).  Exports of 112,300 pounds were to South Korea.

Beef:  Net sales of 17,100 MT for delivery in 2011 were primarily for Canada (3,700 MT), Russia (3,100 MT), Japan (2,800 MT), Mexico (2,200 MT), and Egypt (1,900 MT).  Exports of 16,100 MT were mainly to Mexico (3,200 MT), Japan (2,800 MT), Canada (2,500 MT), South Korea (1,900 MT), and Russia (1,400 MT).
