Bayer CropScience Launches Global Web Video Competition for Farmers

“YouFarm International” to raise awareness and appreciation for modern agriculture
Bayer CropScience has launched YouFarm International, a global web video competition for farmers. Family farms play a pivotal role in global food security, producing 70 percent of the world’s food. With food production at an all-time high and consumer awareness of farming practices varying, the need to demonstrate family farming is paramount to ensure farmers receive the support needed from the wider community to succeed. By providing farmers and people passionate about farming the opportunity to tell their story, the company strives to increase public awareness and understanding of the role family farms play in supporting global agriculture.

“YouFarm gives farmers a global platform to have their voice heard and to put faces and personalities to modern agriculture,” said Liam Condon, Chief Executive Officer of Bayer CropScience.

This year the YouFarm International video competition will centre on “Farm ‘n’ Family,” which gives credit to the contributions made by family farms around the world. These farms are the backbone of agriculture and account for almost 90 percent of the world’s 570 million farms.

“At Bayer CropScience, we work collaboratively with family farmers to develop and implement innovative agricultural techniques that will help ensure food safety and security globally,” said Derrick Rozdeba, Manager Marketing Communications with Bayer CropScience Canada. “Through YouFarm, we’re aiming to connect people around the world with behind-the-scenes videos of life on a family farm so they too can understand the role farmers play in ensuring there is food on our tables.”
