Sixteen producers, Ontario Pork directors and staff and a representative from the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture Food and Rural Affairs gathered yesterday afternoon for the Essex County Pork Producers annual meeting. After having their local election for president, secretary and treasurer, Doug Richards from OMAFRA discussed the dangers of pit foaming and methods for control. Board directors, Teresa Van Raay and Bill Wymenga provided information on the Food Bank program and then delivered the Board presentation. Discussion focused on traceability, branding and processing capacity in the province.
