Farm Credit Invests $50,000 In Indiana FFA Leadership Center

Farm Credit Mid-America, an agricultural lending cooperative serving farmers, rural residents and agribusinesses throughout Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee, contributed $50,000 to the Indiana FFA Foundation to make improvements to the Indiana FFA Leadership Center, located in Trafalgar, IN. The Indiana FFA Leadership Center’s mission is to provide a facility for leadership training and personal enrichment for a broad range of clients, with a primary focus on serving Indiana’s youth. For more than 40 years, the Leadership Center has provided a facility for leadership training for Indiana FFA members.

The funds will help make several needed improvements and updates to the facility, including new windows, an improved security system, new mattresses for the cabins and additional desks and furniture. “A study by the American Campers Association found that the most important characteristic of an organized camp is providing children with a safe and secure facility,” said Lisa Chaudion, executive director, Indiana FFA Foundation. “In order to ensure our campers are in a safe environment, we launched The Leadership Center Safety Initiative, aimed at addressing the security and safety issues facing the center. Farm Credit’s contribution will bring us much closer to our goal of offering the safest and most productive environment possible to our campers.”
