USDA Crop Progress Report: Harvest Proceeding Well.

USDA released the weekly Crop Progress Report.

Report Highlights

The U.S. corn harvest is a little bit slower than average, while the soybean harvest is moving faster than normal.

As of Sunday, 86% of corn has reached maturity, compared to 83% on average, and 27% is harvested, compared to the five year average of 32%. 68% of corn is rated good to excellent, steady on the week. 1% did move from good up to excellent.

85% of soybeans are dropping leaves, compared to 83% on average with 42% harvested, compared to 32% on average. 64% of soybeans are called good to excellent, up 2% from a week ago.

49% of winter wheat is planted and 20% of the crop has emerged. Those are both 2% slower than usual.

44% of U.S. pastures and rangelands are in good to excellent shape, up 1% from last week.
