Video: IPM Strategies For Mycotoxin Production In Corn

Oct 07, 2015

Aspergillus ear rot and Fusarium ear rot produce the mycotoxins aflatoxin and fumonisin, respectively. These mycotoxins are difficult to manage and can result in economic loss to farmers. In this video we discuss research that is being conducted at the University of Arkansas as part of a multi-state project to manage mycotoxins by improving genetic resistance and preventing mycotoxin accumulation in grain. This project works specifically to generate and evaluate transgenic (RNAi) lines of corn for mycotoxin reduction, and to discover novel targets for RNAi through gene network and module analyses.
