Video:K-State Biodiesel Initiative

Nov 24, 2014

The collaboration between departments across the Kansas State University campus and external funding sources has allowed for the development of the K-State Biodiesel Initiative. A student-run biodiesel conversion facility turns cooking oil from campus dining facilities to 100 percent biodiesel fuel (B100), which is blended with petroleum diesel to create B20, or 20 percent biodiesel. Campus trucks and landscaping vehicles use this fuel in everyday operations, and the entire effort makes for a more sustainable campus.
