Video: Safety Culture on Livestock Operations

Livestock producers speak to employees about the importance of safety on their operations and how employees can be part of the safety culture. Key messages include: (1) safety starts with the owners, (2) your employer wants you to be safe, (3) do not take safety shortcuts to be more efficient, (4) employee health is part of business health, (5) communication is important to safety culture, (6) the employer has the responsibility to get a translator if you do not speak English, (7) you have the responsibility to tell the employer if you do not understand, (8) as part of a team, you have responsibility for your co-workers' safety, (9) report problems and share ideas for your safety and health, and the safety and health of others.
