Deere Software Systems Adds Functionality

John Deere Agri Services has completed new functionality for the AgroGuide and AgLogic systems that allows for complete, automated work order management for ag service providers. With the seamless transfer of work order information between the AgroGuide and AgLogic systems, orders can be completed more accurately and invoiced more quickly. This automation reduces the risk of lost paperwork for improved profitability, cash flow and inventory management, as well as enhanced productivity in daily operations.

Work orders created in the AgroGuide agronomy management system easily transfer to the AgLogic system. The new AgLogic system is a Web-based logistics management application from John Deere Agri Services that enables commercial service providers to schedule work orders and dispatch them to applicators and tenders in the field. Once the field operations are completed by the applicator, information from the application event - including field conditions and any application adjustments that were made - are imported into the AgroGuide system. A delivery ticket is created and inventory information is updated.

This delivery ticket is immediately available to the billing staff for invoicing, or changes can be made and services or products can be added to the invoice before billing, if needed.
The process also allows automatic batching of a group of delivery tickets for billing at the same time. The automated work order management functionality improves the accuracy and timeliness of billing by eliminating delays for field documents from the applicator.

“With the use of the AgroGuide and AgLogic systems to automate the entire work order management process from start to finish, manual intervention throughout the process is eliminated,” says Tim Roberts, AgroGuide product manager. “This important functionality not only improves day-to-day productivity, but it also eliminates the issue of orders not getting billed due to lost paperwork or getting billed incorrectly, which can have a significant impact on a company’s bottom line.”

“Together, the AgroGuide and AgLogic systems facilitate much more efficient and cost-effective delivery of agronomic services,” adds Cyndee Smiley, AgLogic product manager. “For ag service providers looking to reduce costs and differentiate themselves through top-notch services, the automated work order management process helps them not only reduce their labor requirements but also create a competitive advantage.”

The work order management functionality also improves information management for ag service providers. By having all information related to each work order in one place within the business system, complete field operations application information is readily available and easily accessed by personnel throughout the organization.

Alltech has introduced Olerix, an innovative phytogenic blend created to promote growth and feed efficiency in pigs. Through a proprietary coating process, the bioactive blend of phytogenic compounds used in Olerix is designed to outlast the manufacturing process, ensuring consistent outcomes from feed to finish. The result is a high-impact efficiency solution that provides consistent support for gut health, feed efficiency, immune function and growth performance. Olerix is backed by validated trials conducted under modern pork production conditions.

“As the industry searches for technology to drive profitability forward in a more sustainable manner, we’re thrilled to join that effort with our Olerix technology,” said Mark Hulsebus, general manager for U.S. pork at Alltech. “Our work in this phytogenic space is yielding very encouraging results, and we’re excited to make this new opportunity available to pork producers focused on optimizing feed efficiency and growth rates.”

“Olerix represents the next generation of phytogenic technology — combining feed efficiency, livability and immune support into a practical commercial solution producers can implement today,” said Andy Rash, U.S. monogastric director at Alltech.
