Ross Ohlendorf's father raised him to love ranching, something he continues in the offseason.
When he's not on the mound, Ohlendorf tries to spend time back at Rocking O Longhorns near Lockhart, Texas. But when he's on the road, he still manages the ranch's website and marketing operations.
In 2009, Ohlendorf completed an eight-week internship with the United States Department of Agriculture. His duties included accompanying then First Lady Michelle Obama to elementary schools to promote healthy eating among children.
