An ag equipment manufacturer has released a new piece of equipment for producers of specific commodities.

Case IH recently introduced a special setup of its Precision Disk 500T single disk air drill model that’s designed for soybean and specialty crop producers.

“It’s a single-rank configuration, meaning there’s one row of disks, and they’re spaced on 15-inch centers,” Trent Nowosad, marketing manager for seeding equipment with Case IH, told Farms.com. “It’s designed for growers who need that spacing and are looking for an air drill that can accommodate those needs.”

Growers could also use this piece of machinery for winter wheat and cover crops, he said.

The drill can be equipped in 30- and 40-foot widths and with either a 70- or 100-bushel tank.

Some of the benefits of this design include accurate seed placement and better residue management. And its streamlined setup makes it easier for farmers to access components for maintenance.

In addition, this new configuration includes many of the factory features found on other models within the 500T lineup, Nowosad said.

“It comes with four-section control which can be automated for overlap control,” Nowosad said. “It comes standard with in-cab down pressure as well as being able to add weight scales to the unit to see the weights in the tank while operating.”

Farmers interested in purchasing one of the new Precision Disk 500T models can contact their dealer to place an order.

Orders are expected to be delivered in time for the 2021 planting season, Nowosad said.
