Live Cattle Commodity Update for the Week Ending Dec 08, 2023

The week of Dec 04, 2023 saw the price of live cattle end at 165.725. Compared to last week’s ending price of 169.125 the price of live cattle dropped by 2%.

The lowest price point for live cattle during the week occurred on Dec 07, 2023 when the price was at 162.525.

In the span of a month, the price of live cattle dropped by 7.7%. At this time last month, live cattle was at 179.475 and have since dropped to 165.725.

Live cattle has also seen an improvement from last year. At this time in 2022, the price was at 165.45. The change in prices from a year ago represents an increase of 0.2%.

On Sep 27, 2022, live cattle had its worst day as far as markets go when it was at 161.05.

Live cattle’s total volume for the week was 153284. Its worst performing day came on Dec 08, 2023, when the commodity saw its weekly low of 22673.
