Live Cattle Commodity Update for the Week Ending Sep 01, 2023

The week of Aug 28, 2023 saw the price of live cattle end at 180.15. Compared to last week’s ending price of 181.175 the price of live cattle dropped by 0.6%.

The lowest price point for live cattle during the week occurred on Aug 30, 2023 when the price was at 180.05.

In the span of a month, the price of live cattle dropped by 0.9%. At this time last month, live cattle was at 181.825 and have since dropped to 180.15.

Live cattle has also seen an improvement from last year. At this time in 2022, the price was at 156.55. The change in prices from a year ago represents an increase of 15.1%.

On May 20, 2022, live cattle had its worst day as far as markets go when it was at 150.2.

Live cattle’s total volume for the week was 106937. Its worst performing day came on Sep 01, 2023, when the commodity saw its weekly low of 18869.
