Live Cattle Commodity Update for the Week Ending Sep 22, 2023

The week of Sep 18, 2023 saw the price of live cattle end at 191.35. Compared to last week’s ending price of 191.825 the price of live cattle dropped by 0.2%.

The lowest price point for live cattle during the week occurred on Sep 21, 2023 when the price was at 189.5.

Between Aug 22, 2023 and Sep 22, 2023 the price of live cattle rose by 4.5%. At this time last month, prices for live cattle were at 183.15 and have now jumped to 191.35.

Live cattle has also seen an improvement from last year. At this time in 2022, the price was at 160.75. The change in prices from a year ago represents an increase of 19%.

On Jun 30, 2022, live cattle had its worst day as far as markets go when it was at 153.325.

Live cattle’s total volume for the week was 127554. Its worst performing day came on Sep 20, 2023, when the commodity saw its weekly low of 20688.
